also firefighters are sounding the alarm in alameda. the warning they say they gave two years before a controversial death. >>> we've got on update from a star roy for story from alameda. they warned city officials not to take away its water rescue program two years before a man committed suicide off of crown beach. that is according to today's oakland tribune. they did not rush in to save the man because they did not have proper certification. since then the city of alameda has certified 20 firefighters for water rescues. >>> chaos at the u.s. capitol. house speaker john boehner is scrambling for support. as alison burns reports, that is after conservatives forced him to call off a vote last night to raises country's debt ceiling. allison. >> reporter: pam, first i want to tell you we found out president obama is going to be speaking out about all of this in just about an hour. in the meantime, house speaker john boehner is not giving up. he's meeting with house republicans as group this morning and he will try to push ahead again today

the oakland tribune reports that the alameda firefighters union warned the city about taking away the water rescue program. a man took his own life after wading into the waters off of crown beach. firefighters didn't try to save him because they said they didn't have proper certification. they have since certified 20 firefighters for water rescues. >>>th last of four big cat walks is set to go into place. you may have noticed the other three as they are visible for drivers on the bay bridge. a fourth is expected to go up in the next couple of weeks. the cat walks are used by iron workers to build the new cable of the bridge. stringing the cable will take a year and the bridge is set to open in two years. >>> let's check in with sal for a look at traffic. hi sal. >> traffic is doing very well. we have road work out there that you should watch out for including 680 and contra costa county. and parts of 880 in oakland. first let's take a look at east shore freeway. you can see traffic is moving along nicely if you're driving out to the mccarthur maze. no major problems. we are looking at
