the temperatures in just a moment. we've been talking about this new system that is now coming into play, it's coming out of canada. the air mass began in alaska. that's how cold we're talking about. we can see the snow showers all through the weekend. unfortunately things are going to deteriorate for many people. seattle, vancouver, you can see the clear skies across most of washington state. that is good news. we also had warnings to talk about, winter storm warnings across much of the area. high winds are also a problem. also in the higher elevations and freeze warnings a little bit further to the shout. this is the coldest air mass we have seen this season. we're talking october, november, and it is the coldest. we're talking about temperatures in the single digits even below thursday. notice the color between bismarck all the way down to omaha. we have a 31-degree temperature difference. the cold front is right here making its way down towards the south. a similar situation but not the same situation as we had in this past weekend that came through. we're going to see thunderstorms possibly but we're not going to be seeing severe thunders

the f.b.i. arriving. this started at 9:30 at a checkpoint inside terminal 3 that houses air tran, alaska and jetblue. a man fired shots with a rifle at a security check point. it ended up with several people wounded. at least three. one wore a t.s.a. officer uniform and we believe the t.s.a. officer was shot. police and security immediately moved in ordering people to get out, evacuate the terminal. some went on to the tarmac where they were loaded on the buses. the suspected shooter has been shot and taken into custody but we talked with a local man by known who flew in and said all hell broke loose. >> all hell broke loose because people were pouring out of the terminal on to the tarmac. police arrived, the cars came driving up. we were watching this all happen, thinking, this is really weird. i heard two shots fired outside like it was fired from inside the terminal. >> armed police arrived and triage times were set up. reports confirm the shooter used an ar-15 assault rifle which is called the m-16 for the military lax is shut down with no notes coming or going out of that airport. we will be upd

leads the arctic counsel we just arrived there as our friends from the united states air force arrived having started that from alaska. but this does speak to, it was a very interesting presentation that the secretary of defense hagel had at the halifax international security on the weekend in which he presented the framework of the united states going forward. and it spoke not only to the importance of the arctic but also towards environment and climate change. all of these things are very heartening in that it confirms the fact that the united states is like-minded with canada and in fact all our conditions in seeing the arctic is free of military competition. that is a very important point, because it frees the military chiefs of defense like myself to focus on dividing military support to civil authorities and all of those things appeal to all of our better angels. a couple of years ago i was head of the missions with delegations from each of the arctic nations to discuss the arctic search-and-rescue which did end up a legally binding treaty which really was a tremendous step forward and enlisting all the capabil
