[applause] >> if i may, i'd like to call up some very key members of the committee. i cannot call all 100-plus people up here, but some very key members. first filipino elected in san francisco, who has been with the sister city committee from day one, and partners in making sure that the cultural links have to do with education. nancy and dan harrington, please join us here. they have sent 13 million books to impoverished children over the years. we thank you all for this honor. we have enjoyed tremendously the ability to link with the philippines. we have generated thousands of jobs, both in the philippines and in san francisco. we have donated thousands of dollars to various events, such as the cleanup of the river, the symphony of the philippine cultural center, and the list goes on

reaping the benefits and the rewards and the common american always you know suffering the consequences. right the thousands out on the streets of american cities are fed up with breaking the box wall street corporations growth on the profits however the cold and the big bang mentality seems to be falling on deaf ears certainly in the white house that's gone and reports washington isn't ready to turn its back on old friends. investing in politics has proved to be good business in america just a few million dollars in contributions and some lobbying can bring your company billions in bailout loan guarantees tax refunds and other stimulus all of the expense of the every american taxpayer it's both in the election system and it's in the ongoing lobbying and service influence industry these are powerful powerful businesses their whole business model is around using influence to break the rules of the game in their favor so far u.s. corporations have been successful in ensuring that the loss introduced to regulate wall street after the financial meltdown of two thousand and eight don't function those measures were effectively scuppered by u.s. lawma

as that strategic shipment point so my question is how real is the threat of the cartes of the american cities and what other cities are the mexican drug cartels operating out of >> congressman is very real. as you know atlanta is the hub for the business in the southeast, and the mexican cartel is recognized for a lot of the same reasons. you go from the southwest border to atlanta in about 1100 miles a 15 hour trip and then from there we would see those cartels push up loads of cocaine for example all the way up the eastern seaboard and in the bill also use the house in dallas and atlanta and other places to collect thatmoney and then push it back down to the cartel leadership so the of strategically identified locations because it is a good business model for them. surely it is a good business models for the companies like fedex and others where they use the hub to distribute certain things and if we know that they are using atlanta and dallas and phoenix and some of those areas would that make it easier to crack down on? >> we have to the many are we in places like a plant of or the other
