it is bringing the heat into the bay area. as we look at what is coming down the line, the possibility that this will not budge over the next few days. it may just kind of move back and forth just a little bit, but we'll watch where the possibility where this could happen to some tropical moisture from a weakening hurricane that's right now over cabo san lucas. as we look at the current conditions right now. this is still hurricane genevieve that continues to weaken. right now wind speeds at 80 miles per hour. as it moves farther to the north, we'll see it continue to weaken. but, once again, that high pressure may draw in some of that tropical moisture and we know that is what sparked the storms and the lightning. as of right now hopefully that stays to the south and we'll just see the warm weather continue. that will be the best-case scenario here. looking at the seven-day forecast. a lot of 90s for the interior valleys. still not coming down into the 80s and i think our temperatures will peak on monday at 97 degrees. with sa

this sunday morning where as you can see we've got a red flag warning in place in the bay area for the entire bay area, the national weather service saying that there could be more dry lightning and erratic winds and it's a big concern because the last time we had dry lightning that's what sparked all the fires that we're still struggling to get a handle on. the president has approved the governor's request for a major disaster declaration so help is on the way in the form of federal aid to help battle these wildfires burning around the bay and as they continue to rage that major that declaration will help us right now the latest from cal fire puts the lnu complex fire. at 17% containment. that is the fire that's burning in the north bay. the scu lightning complex fire which is in the east bay has burned 10% contained right now and the czu lightning complex fire. that's the one along the peninsula. it's just 8% contain still that is a jump from yesterday morning by about 3% so little by little they are working on it as fast as they can to knock down these fires before there is a threat

i haven't seen any lightning in the bay area. t notice down here around the central coast line, we did have some lightning strikes as this loops around right there. so there is enough instability. that's what that's telling me that we still could have some of these thunderstorms fire off as we move into the overnight hours. let's get you a closer look. it looks a little bit worse than it is right now, at least on that rainfall scale. we're getting some light in a few spotty moderate showers. but the lower atmosphere is relatively dry. a lot of this is evaporating before it hits the surface. but nonetheless i think over san rafael, this moving off to the north, we could see a few of those showers into santa rosa by 9:14 tonight. isolated thunderstorm chance as you move into the overnight hours. we have three main zones here of the fires. one in the north bay, one in the south bay, and one over the santa cruz mountains. we are looking at 94 degrees tomorrow. wind gusts of about 20 miles per hour. also notice on these maps as i zoom
