the average consumer? >> this past quarter was pretty good because lending was up and loan margins, interest income marginse up. it was much safer because trading was down. it was recorded with low trading. but if you look at the bigger picture, the longer time, the past four, five quarters trading has been going up and up. even in firms like morgan stanley, where the new paradigm was going to be the same thing, we are not going to be the big traders. they have been trading big as well. so it could be safe, but we do not know as much about this, which is trading markets and the band trading part, which we will never know if it is still in there. those things have been doing well too. so may things regulations have brought in that make it safer, even with all of this activity coming back. you would hope that when there is trouble, there are no backups to prevent. vonnie: so we have surpassed the backups in 2007. it might be a bigger economy, but growth has stalled for the past 10 years. should we have any right to expect this from the banks? are they outperforming by just doing as well as they were in 2007?
