time, there's plenty of alcohol abuse in the legal profession. 6 months after peter died the american bar association in the treatment center came out with a landmark study of 13,000 lawyers across the country and asked about substance abuse and mental health and the striking thing about that survey was very high levels of drinking and high levels of anxiety and depression, but 3 quarters of attorneys skipped over the questions on drug abuse, they asked answer though the questions weren't there. when i was researching in the new york times i call the lead investigator on the study, he has his own consulting firm that works with law firms to help them address mental health and substance abuse issues and i said do you think it is just that peter was a one off and there isn't any drug use or abuse in the legal profession and he said 75% of lawyers gifted because they were afraid to answer and this is a group of professionals that are used to looking for problems, they are very suspicious, not particularly trusting and that is part of their legal training. they weren't going to answer the question even o

about 6 months after peter died, the american bar association and treatment center came out with the landmark study, survey of 13,000 lawyers across the country and asked them about substance abuse and abuse and mental health and the striking thing about that survey was that there was high levels of drinking and there were high levels of anxiety and depression, but about 3 quarters of attorneys get questions of drug abuse. they didn't even answer. they acted like the questions weren't there and when i was researching the stories i called the lead investigators on the study patrick and he's now has his own consulting that works with law firms to help with mental health and substance abuse. do you think that peter was a one-off and there isn't drug abuse in the legal profession. no, i think 75% of lawyers skipped it because they were afraid to answer and there's a group of professionals that they are used to looking for problems, they are very suspicious, they are not particularly trusting and that's part of their legal training, so, you know, they weren't going to answer the questions
