"today in the bay's" stephanie chuang is there live and just spoke with a neighbor. stephanie, what are you learning? >> reporter: well, good morning. first of all, police came here to the sunnyvale home behind me and discovered two bodies. we just spoke with a next-door neighb neighbor, charles tovar, who told us he knew the family well and police told him last night it was a murder/suicide involving the mother in her 50s and her son in his 20s who the neighbor tells us was autistic. police got the first reports of two people shot in this home on the 800 block of nectarine avenue around 7:45 last night. tovar says it was the phatter who discovered the bodies when he got home from work. he adds

in the south bay. san jose police say a man armed with a stun gun tried to kidnap a teenage girl friday in the willow glen neighborhood. fortunately, she was able to escape. the suspect was last seen driving off in a red compact car with tinted windows. he's being described as a hispanic man in his 30s standing 5'7", weighing around 200 pounds. >>> a muni driver is on leave this morning during the investigation of a deadly accident. a muni bus hit and killed a man just before 11:00 yesterday morning. witnesses say a man stepped out into traffic from between parked cars when he was hit and pinned under the bus. police have not released the victim's name. >>> and b.a.r.t. police are searching for witnesses to a brutal attack earlier this month. he was found near the 7th and market street exit at san francisco's civic center station march 9th. he was unconscious and bleeding from his head. the victim is still hospitalized in critical condition. investigators need help in piecing together what happened. >>>

the south bay not a big deal. northbound 101, 87, still showing close to the limit for the northbound commute routes. look at this. in the east bay a jam out of the altamont pass. 21 minute drive. over to the dublin interchange, the jam up around darty road. things are jamming up at the interchange. it's looking like it may be some of the commuters getting later start because of that time change. and clogging it up. so now things are jamming up in your usual spots. heavier than we see about this time. we're also seeing slowing here as you come over to concord, westbound highway 4 and expect that to affect 242 and southbound 680. the peninsula, also the sunrise changing your commute time an issue for later in the commute. 101 sees slowing as the sun pops in, that will be around 7:30, 8:00. unusual for a lot of folks. the bay bridge, not a problem from the city side or the the oakland side though we see slowing at the turn. some slowing continuing for 880 past oakland. there are no incidents reported. a look at the t

rain moving through the east bay. we just checked in with chp and there are not a lot of accidents but we are keeping a close eye on several freeways. if you're headed along 880 towards the san mateo bridge both directions are quiet. no major problems to report right now if you are headed through marin county. traffic actually still very light on southbound 11. mass transit is always a good choice, especially later on in the evening commute when the wet weather really hits. so far everything is right on time >> we have some new information on that strong earthquake that hit japan in the last hour. it is now a magnitude 6.4 according to the japanese meteorological agency. this said there may be a small change in sea level but did not issue any tsunami warnings. the epicenter was off the northern coast of japan, about 6 mi. below the surface of the seats in the region heavily damaged by last year's earthquake and tsunami. it is the second of a series of earthquakes, a few weeks ago they had one as well. >> one person has
