's what we're going to see the heat continue as we go throughout the week. if you want to go out for a walk right around sunset, most of the bay area will start to cool off nicely as the ocean breeze picks up again. high pressure builds and keeps it hot as we go throughout the week. no major changes here. each day we'll see a wide range in temperatures. as we go into the weekend some breezy winds start to pick up and that will help drop off the temperatures but look at the seven-day forecast for the valleys we're hot all throughout the week with some 90s in the forecast coming down to about 86 on sunday and for san francisco we're staying mild here with some 70s making it into the upper 70s by the end of the workweek. and, mike, you've been keeping an eye on the commute of the most of the slowing still in the tri-valley? >>> a typical pattern although it did look stronger for a bit. now we'll take a look at the bay bridge toll plaza. we should see traffic starting to build a bit. that

it's been a very warm week for the bay area. it's nice to know we will have a cooldown but it starts tomorrow. we have one more day of some hot weather. at least we have the morning hours as we take a look at our temperature trend, not too bad for the south bay with willow glen in the upper 50s. at noon, 75. still comfortable but we will heat up as we get ready for highs that will reach into the mid-80s. mid-90s in the inland east bay and even triple digits farther to the north. so we will still have a wide range in temperatures, and we'll all cool off for the weekend. that also comes along with high winds. we'll talk more about that and what's ahead. mike gets you ready for a look at your commute. how is it looking? >>> brace yourself, folks. pretty much green right now. just after 4:30 we're looking at the roadways all around the bay. the speed sensors read in the green zone, even out of the altamont pass, and that's friday light even there. we're looking at two advisories from chp that says the antioch bridge and the carquinez

south of the bay area. bob? >> yes, good morning to you, laura. law enforcement does appear to be closing in on the suspect within the past few dhours. we have confirmed that law enforcement was able to hear the law enforcement firing off shots and law enforcement setting off flash bangs in the apartment complex and that law enforcement has shut down highway 101 off ramp there in the search for this man. take a look at this photo. this is mason james and he is from the monterey area. he opened fire on the police department yesterday morning and when deputies arrived to shop he allegedly shot the deputy in the face and the condition of that deputy unknown. now, our investigative unit has learned that federal agents are investigating whether the recent murders of law enforcement in oakland and santa cruz county is connected to this attack in paso robles. on saturday a santa cruz sheriff was killed in an attack that involved guns and improvised explosive and two other members of law enforcement were injured in
