things turn wet tuesday and wednesday in the bay area, as we have said for weeks, usually rains in the bay area begin in november and they are beginning in november. right now, temperatures mostly in the 60s in the bay area, orange glow behind the city as we finish saturday, it is beautiful. numbers right now in the 60s, really mild for beginning to be the latter part of november. one more mile day, tomorrow is nice, not quite as warm as it was today. high pressure is going slowly, edge into california and battle with the low to the north, when it does, the winds are spiking by the time we get to monday afternoon. then that trough begins to be the high-pressure back, it moves right in over california. this is classic fashion with a low plunging out of the golf, getting wet and once the storm such as it is begins to creep open, it will stay open for thanksgiving. not a huge amount of rain, nevertheless, we can finally stop talking about fire weather in the bay area after monday. the breakfast forecast tomorrow morning, temperatures in the 30s, the first time we have seen that in a long

but look at that rain coming down in the bay area's we take for a closer look. you can see some of those showers popping up some heavier bands now making their way into parts of the south bay they will get some downpours are really taking the better part of the day to get the rain in that direction otherwise the showers continuing across san francisco stretching into union city parts of the east bay too and then the main cold front is actually just beginning to move into the north bay where they've seen the most significant rainfall so far some of those are rain totals upwards of a half an inch of rain so far and there's plenty more to come. in fact there is some concern tonight and some of the north bay that we're looking at the possibility of some flash flooding. so some advisories have been posted in those areas and the north bay specially in and around the contained fire of the burn areas not able hold out water there's just not the root systems from up last there so certainly concern that we could see some flash flooding there. but this storm season looks li

brought with it some very heavy downpours as it moved on by now earned more scattered showers around the bay area, the front is now in the monterey bay, they're still seeing some heavy rainfall in the salinas parts of hollister. continue to see showers into watsonville in the south bay catching a little bit of a break there are some heavy downpours there for a while and the san jose, but now just scattered showers around the area and then you're going to see you got the cold air ming in behind that front and you're going to see these areas we get these downpours maybe some embedded thunderstorms, some of the cells coming through scattered showers in along the peninsula, too and more that in the north bay as well so that's what we're going to see on and off now more scattered showers with this type of system and then cold enough for starting to see some snow begin to show up over some of the mountain peaks. the winds have been a big story, some of those gusty winds 3040 plus miles per hour. evenown in the urban areas that's why we have reports of some of the power outages and up over the mount ops

going to be rough going to out there right now to look bad, although it does get chilly around the bay area cellphone no delays there oakland or san jose of course. >>the weekend that'going to be a whole different story, the problems of the sfo maybe all bay area airports as a major storm going to be moving in this storm system still winding down it is going to head eastward as it does still a couple snowflakes over the sierra nevada. way this one this is going to be the major weather maker and this an entirely differenstorm system remember the last one was very cold. this one is actually pping a little subtropical moisture will call the good old pineapple express you know that means a whole lot of water vapor is going to be absorbed into this storm system and that's going to bring with it the potential for some significant rain around the bay area, some very heavy amounts that will continue into saturday and sunday too and you see the kind a couple areas low pressure kind of bank run off the coastline. that's going to allow it to really just focus that moisture continue in the bay area now

the bay area is bracing for its first big storm of the season. have a live look at san francisco over the bay into marin county. you can see the high clouds starting to roll in. the temperatures are starting to dip. not only here in the bay area but up north it will be packing punch in the sierra nevadas . we are tracking the weather and pinpointing when it will arrive. >> in the last half hour, you can see the clouds are darkening and thickening up. we will see some of that moisture roll into the bay area. here's a look at the storm. moved to northern california a little bit earlier. when reports down to ukiah, california, starting at the noon hour and now we are starting to see again some of that moisture and drain in addition to a rain snow mix over areas of lake county and if i shift into the north bay, the darker shades of green are definitely a good indicator of perhaps that rain actually hitting the ground. some of this -- we have been talking about this a little bit this morning. it will take a little while for the atmosphere to moisten u

it's going to pull that wind over the bay area. ke sure you are ready to go on the forecast. it doesn't include all of the bay area in the fire warning. it's frgt northeast and the south bay. the mountains have the highest chance of 35 to 50-miles-per-hour gusts. isolated 50-miles-per-hour gusts like at the mount st. helena. look at the contrast, lower elevations, only 10 to 20, sustained winds and gusts 15 to 30. lower elevations, we're okay, but higher elevations that's where the fire danger ramped up. we'll get you the hour by hour forecast in about a minute but i want to take you into tomorrow morning w. that system developing we'll see high clouds moving across and temperatures getting darker. you need your jacket here, north bay at 47, east bay looking at mid to upper 40s. through the afternoon as that windy system once again starts to develop, numbers will drop 5 to about 10 degrees. back to 64 in san jose. over to the east bay, 67 in concord, 61 in oakland, similar here through the peninsula. san francisco mix of # 50s to lo
