the east bay. we are not seeing a lot of thunderstorm activity in the bay area. over in the sacramento valley, we are picking up quite a bit. the warnings continue until 5:00 this afternoon. for the northbay, east bay, south bay, the entire bay area, you can see from the shade of red. starting at 11:00 last night, you can see all the moisture coming in from the south of baja, california. if you take a closer look over the sierra, you can see the thunderstorm activity and the lightning there. for us, i think, one lightning strike was detected over southeast areas of the scu complex. that is some good news. the risk is not gone completely. although, you can see, this morning, that air mass is a lot more stable than what we had. let's check in on some of the shower activity, even some of the rain over the area of richmond. we have light rain following the san rafael bridge. as we go north, the bodega bay, over near cloverdale, quote calistoga, this is getting into the winds. it is generally light out there. fairfield is reporting 12 miles per hour. i am seeing a litt

reason we did see so much tremendous amounts of lightning around the bay area. first marine weather warning before sunrise as line of strong thunderstorms approached the coast. unique was the thunderstorm warning for entire bay area 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. length-sparked wildfires in east bay hills. source was tropical moisture from a weakening tropical storm to the south. coupled with inland temperatures in the 80s, tropical air in place, unusually warm temperatures inland helped to fire up the storms. uniquely rare for us. but moisture tap is still in place as next batch comes in. an hour ago had latest round of marine weather warnings for 9:00. red flag warning for lightning issues through 11:00 in the morning and i think likely to get extended into the afternoon. north bay. and excessive heat could break more records middle of the week. when the thunder moves out and when cooler temperatures could could be back in in 14 minutes. >>> these pictures into the newsroom. tree smashed into a home in los gatos on escobar avenue near ross creek. whole tree came down,
