so right now two lanes are closed here at the bay bridge toll plaza. this is causing some big backups here this morning. right now, the backup is to west grand avenue. so if you do drive through the bay bridge toll plaza, keep in mind it might take you a little bit longer today. we have some footage shortly after this crash happened. this is a solo car crash. we saw cars sideways with the back of the car up on the divider and wedged in between two of the toll plaza booths. an ambulance was here, as well as a fire department, a tow truck removed the car and the front side of the car was smashed in. right now we do not know the driver's condition. i have reached out to chp to try to get more information on what happened here, what time they're thinking they're going to reopen all the lanes and we're still working to get that information for you. live at the bay bridge toll plaza. gloria rodriguez, abc seven news. >> gloria. thank you. now we get a check of the forecast with drew. >> hey. good morning. we are taking a look at clouds out there this morning.

the bay bridge. mike. yeah, we have this activity in the middle of the bay bridge toll plaza closing two lanes, actually temporarilys. you see all the caltrans crews, one lane on either side of buffer. so lanes six through nine, from what i understand, are all closed right now. we have the consolidated to the middle of the roadway. i've seen them load up some junk right onto the back of this truck here. and two bumper trucks was lined up with signs and flashing lights. so they intend to keep these two lanes closed for a bit longer. but we should have a couple more lanes hopefully opening once they're able to clear some of those crews. again. this has got the backup at the toll plaza, but lighter traffic flow only a little slowing on the berkeley curve because of the building commute there. and highway 37. we'll track this major injury crash, though at the toll plaza. back to you. all right. thank you. mike. well, today, one city in the north bay is declaring the start of wildfire season. and it comes after it was devastated by wildfires back in 2017. we have live team coverage this morning. meteorologist kari hall

the box! >>> from cbs news bay area, this is the morning edition. >>> welcome back, your looking live at the bay bridge toll plazaea. they are coming off the 580 and the rest of the traffic is really backed up. two lanes were shut down at the toll booth because of a vehicle that rammed into them and caused quite a bit of damage, it took a while to clear but things are now back open and things are starting to look a little more normal. let's take a look at this overview perspective and how the traffic is getting a little close to the metering lights. good to see that it is back open, however, the backup is slower than usual. it goes back up to the maze this morning. visibility is also an issue coming out of moraine into san francisco. and look at this view from the salesforce cam. you can make out the bay bridge at the bottom, and it looks quite pretty, with the sun shining down on the clouds. but there are a lot of cloud >> the marine layer is definitely showing its color, the single color of gray. you will notice it a lot more along the peninsula and the coastline. the cloud layer will pull back really fast, and

the golden gate bridge. not bad and in fact traffic has been pretty light throughout the morning. we're not seeing any major issues and bay bridge toll plazaetering lights they're on. but very quiet here as well. and here's the overview. you can see moving along well all that green popping up on sensors as you look at the maps. and that is good news. even at the bay bridge. slight delays coming off the skyway there heading into the city near in fremont street and it and of course there's the altamont pass something to note though. it is pretty windy as you head through 580 and if you are taking that ride out of tracy. brake lights there. but those travel times, not bad. 40 minutes from 205 over to 680 and the dublin interchange. once you hop in the car you get the more specific travel times. but just know that most of our major freeways are moving along pretty well for the most part. a quick live look at the san mateo bridge and you love this perspective. no brake lights in sight though. so that's good news there. >>> let's talk about a couple of places where cars are known to back up. two of the most beautiful streets in the world are rig

as for your roads, we do that you talk about on the bay bridge toll plaza. rk after one vehicle collided with the toll plaza at the bay earlier on this morning, the vehicle has long since been cleared. but at this point, chp and caltrans are really just trying to make sure that the toll plaza is itself ready for vehicles to pass through it. as of right now, it does look like 4 lanes are still closed and this is about to result in a little bit more of a backup as you make your way across the bay bridge. my recommendation for you is just get to the road a little bit earlier as we're still a little unsure on when exactly inspection work will be completed to make sure that those lanes will be reopened at the toll plaza. 13 minutes to get you across the mateo bridge while the richmond center fell and the golden gate are both rolling just fine. all right, john, thank you that. after more than 80 years, golden gate fields close its doors for good. the horse racing track between albany and berkeley has been around since 1941. >> my grandfather used to go to that trac
