[applause] >> what a celebration. look at all of you who are here tonight. ic manufacturers, members of the board of supervisors, finding partners. thank you. you are the people who make manufacturing work in san francisco. give yourselves a round of applause. thank you for everything you do. [applause] did you know that we have started just a little more than two years ago and since our humble beginning with only 12 companies, we have now reached 325 manufacturers all here in the city, provid

think as the deputy superintendent mentioned last time with respect to the services, the stops from the bayview, we intend to -- the broader question of transportation changes in services, we realize we are -- is taking longer, frankly, that we had originally planned. we are very close to being able to announce what the changes will be. we have letters drafted to principles and the family members and the after-school program providers. nahyan-sfusd after-school program providers. we have tried to take into account all the different concerns that have been raised and i think the effort to try to address as many concerns as possible has led, unfortunately, to a timeliness issue. we're late but i think the news that will go out is not as bad as we had thought earlier in the spring. if we could just have a little more time. i do not have-specific information to share tonight. -- route specific information to share. president yee: you were on the list and somehow i missed your name. that was my fault. maybe that is what it was. how do you pronounce this one? thank you. dr. murase: i am getting lots

the bayview has a lot of blight and vacant businesses. so i want to address particularly the human services. i understand that you are moving out of oakdale. i want you to consider moving into some of the vacant buildings there. thank you very much for your time and attention today. >> good morning, mayor and supervisors and city representatives. i'm april and i represent the senio seniors. a little background about the self-help we are a community based nonprofit organization. each year we serve over 35,000 seniors in the bay area focusing in the low income. and minorities. senior services serve an important role in the senior population. in district 10 we do have almost 10,000 seniors which is 55 years old or above and there are only five city funded meals programs that are budgeted to serve around 792 seniors. in district 10 over 30% of asian and they are the only agencies that provide services oriented to this ethnicity. recently our agencies had a program in chinese and one of our meal sites john king sr. center is program that has be

the check will be delivered to the san francisco foundation who will hold it on behalf of the community of bayview-hunters point and all of district 10 lennar -- district and. [applause] this money is for community benefits, specifically job training and affordable housing, and will benefit the entire community of the bay view- hunters point, and all of district 10. we have a few instrumental people who will make brief remarks. i would like to begin with the president of lennar urban, the managing partner of the group developing candlestick point project. mr. bonner is a nationally recognized urban planner and redevelopment experts. we are very lucky to have him as the manager of this entire project. [applause] >> thank you very much. $7.2 million gets a lot of nice things said about you. thank you very much. welcome and thank you for coming. i specifically would like to say to mayor lee, thank you for all of the support, leadership, and guidance on this project. i would like to thank supervisor ocohen for everything you do and your leadership. and the ambassadors have done so much to transport participants from the bayview to hear and they helped do a lot of outrage for us. thank you to the community ambassadors. you are still outside, i think. we also, i want to identify a couple of other people. i do not know of you know this. we are the founders of something -- there are 200 pages these -- ph.d's who look at us and say, let's do this in our city. there are people from baltimore and new york. i can say san francisco does a better. [applause] we have also some people from -- calif. -- rand, california. they are remote access medical services. they did one in oakland where they saw how many people, to put you on the spot? 3000 people from medical and dental. we love that. we left people with like minds. congratulations. i also of course would like to thank our notables who will have a chance to speak. people ask me, what makes phc so great that i should fly from baltimore? she did not say it quite like that but i will say she did. i said it is the volunteers. i do not know if any of you know the story. we are the project that

showcase the diversity of manufacturing in san francisco, and we especially like to pay attention to the bayview, the date for local manufacturing. it holds the biggest sector of manufacturers. district 10 is a great concentration of manufacturers. we are proud of being a part of district 10. we have moved out of the lead valley and the manufacturer in district 10 to the central neighborhood. it gives me great pleasure to introduce district 10's supervisor, melea cohen. with the partnership and project, for the first time when we talk about bayview, we do not just talk about the disparity and needs. we do not just talk about a lot -- the lack. [applause] we're not just speaking from a tradition of deficit. the community is focused not on fighting for investment, but rather, in gauging on how best to shape the significant investment that is coming. in an era of uncertainty around redevelopment funds, has not backed away -- lennar has come back away from their commitment, as to renegotiate their promises, or wait to see the full period of the redevelopment agency actually means. rather, they have done what they know is right in the community expects of them. they have continued to deliver on their furniture commitments. this is a long-term project and their investment in the southeast neighborhood, and it is important that we as a city not lose sight of why we fought so hard for this development. we brought thousands of dollars to the city. it is building one of the most dilapidated public housing sites in the city.
