this is the first day that cameron beach is not with us. in honor of his memory, heat -- we have left his name plate up here. he died about two weeks ago. he really cared passionately about the work of the mta. he was interested in it, a wonderful service in his memory. oftentimes, i asked him about something. this is a huge amount of knowledge and was very wise. we have done a number of suggestions in recent weeks about this report to recognize him. one suggestion is to name the street car coach and he was very involved in this. another one that makes a lot of sense to me would be the geneva yard where the historic st. cars are stored and repaired. that would be a fitting thing to named after him. his contributions to the city was enormous and i think it would be a fitting way to remember him i understand to do this, what we need to do is to ask the city attorney to draw up some kind of resolution to do that and i would be interested in members of the board's comments. >> i will miss his wisdom, his wit, and his generosity. i think naming t

i believe the north beach library should be redesigned. the wholesale removal destruction of it -- i see the libraries in the presidio branch and the richmond district that have not been knocked down. these are beautiful buildings that have been augmented and redesigned. also, i see tax dollars wasted. i have seen lots of different types of proposals that actually improve the original design of the building and augmented. those seem to be disregarded. what about the views of alcatraz? that would be blocked. i also work in the hotel business. granted, people are here for only five days or a week, but that iconic view will be lost forever. it looked like tennis courts for going to cover part of the baseball diamond named after the great joe dimaggio. my concern is that this project seems to be more steamrolled and thought through, as far as i have been able to observe. i encourage this project to be put on hold, at least so it can be reviewed more thoroughly, to the point where the a original building can be kept instead of being knocked down

folks hanging out here in the beach at the bay area. it's a gorgeous day.ast as early as this afternoon. you can see our satellite beginning to pick up on a fog bank just off the coastline. that is starting to sweep closer and closer. that's going to be moving onshore later on showing signs that that onshore breeze is kicking in. and our temperatures will start to cool down. much more so as we head in through the weekend but what a day today. lots of sunshine and some beautiful weather out there. sunny skies everywhere you go. 70s and 80s. some 60s at the coastline, some cooler temperatures showing up there. but numbers now 78 in fairfield, 74 in san jose. and 74 degrees right now in san rafael. i think as we look toward the weekend this ridge finally breaking down and moving out of the way. you can see some high clouds encroaching on the bay area here showing signs, yup, that we're in for a cooler day but still above normal. 70s and 80s in most parts of the bay area. so enjoy it. big changes for the weekend ahead. expect about 81 degrees in morgan hill, 79
