march the beach was less crowded than anticipated. s of servers taking advantage of near perfect conditions and big waves. cries i don't know if it is a miracle. times are really changing. it is like 85 degrees, waves are barreling. heaven on earth. >> these are great conditions but there is a looming risk in the water as swimmers look to cool off up and down the coast. >> the national weather service has issued a hazard statement for multiple bay area beach communities warning of dangerous sneaker waves and rip currents. while the risk is not strong in santa cruz, the patrol will be on high alert with more visitors coming to town. >> we do our normal patrols. last year, unfortunately we did respond to three fatalities on the north coast. in all of those cases, it was people that got too close. >> don't turn your back on the waves, stay off of wet rocks and pay attention to the tides. if we can do that, we can enjoy the weather with no issues. in santa cruz, dustin dorsey. turn your back on this. a little bit longer, 10 minutes is up.
