they are not all bad stories, the history, the idea that the bible is historically inerrant is simply not true it's not probably archaeological finds and it is just a fascinating account if you like archaeology everybody enjoyed this book. this was from the first emperor augustus two of the most famous, constantine and these are transformative figures of ancient rome, the power that they exerted and how important they were further time spreading of trying to protect the mediterranean world and fascinating stories about them at thof the mostimportant charae and you can sort of see that the quote of emperors in many ways this painting the seeds of one's own destruction, but a really wonderful history and great stories and if you like ancient rome and i do, this is a great find. the wonderful series of novels of thon possible for it's hard o find a novel on the civil war like the famous battle of gettysburg. i shied away from novels about possible for a victory the history of it for 12 has been a greadone agreat job of getting y of right and describing what it is like for the ordinary so

who wrote a marvelous book called the intellectual history of the conservative movement that is the bible and the primer that we refer to if you want to know what happened through the seventies. george nash is a marvelous painstaking and brilliant historian. it so happens i have written some books and biographies and histories. so maybe i am coming up from fifth or sixth and making my way up i didn't start out to be a historian but i started to be a novelist and that didn't work out so well. [laughter] i wrote three very bad novels that never got published thankfully because it would be an embarrassment and then i got into political writing over 25 years then one day i said i'm burned out want to go to the academy and teach and write i went back to school to get a phd that's right have been the last 20 or 30 years i have also picked up some from churchill i love the one line that says what will history say about you mister churchill? he said i know because i will write it. i think what i'm trying to do in a small way with my work is to paint a picture of the conservative movement sometime
