, many were passed without anyone speaking to us on the board of education. so it was very interesting, to see how this has evolve for me. i might not have supported this but when i thought about it, in particular with the well-thought-out amendments, it changes my mind completely. as you have mentioned supervisor mar, city college is such an anchor for our city terms of education; so many of our students to the school district and pre k -12 will enter city college before they can move onto other things, whether to another university or going through a two your program, the nursing program and so forth, to find employment. one of the biggest fears that i have, being a consumer myself and also actually teaching there for 10 years, i had a strong affiliation for this institution to make sure that it would exist beyond this year. and if they are going for accreditation process, i would hope that the governance is working to get them out of the situation. when i make a comparison, looking at details of making decisions, and i think i want to acknowledge that more

supervisor kim's legislation will allow multiple sequa appeals to the board of supervisors on the same project even though through has been no meaningful change. and this will allow more appeals amid construction. in addition the legislation continues our current practice of allowing appeals to occur in the middle of a project. we say this in a appeal on supervisor campos appeal resulted. we saw recently that the delores park was appealed to the planning commission after the commission approves that project and someone wants to appeal it it can wait until plans are pulled and at which the construction will have to grind to a halt and it will cost additional money. i think this is not the right process that will continue under supervisor kim's legislation. it will eliminate over the counter permits by requiring that the planning department go there an analysis of smaller plans and when permits from what departments might be neat and then a compilation will be another delay. this abandons the delegation to other departments. this year hundreds of categorical reductions that are done ever

they have been able to keep the secrets of the board and this particular individual. so i want to thank all of them for their loyalty and support to the museum and which i very much appreciate. we have an outstanding group of trustees and their love for this institution is as astounding but rightfully deserved. thanks to all the trustees i see in this room today and i want to say how much i appreciate the staff. we have an outstanding staff at this museum. they are a happy lot and a confident group of people. i have worked with them for years and enjoy every moment with them and i would like to say they enjoy working with me as well. they are very excited at the announcement of a new director but they have been functioning very well with our deputy director who has been here as a deputy director since september and has done an excellent job and we look forward to having him with our new director. so, it gives me great pleasure to announce our new director is collin bailey who is the deputy director of the museum and the curator of the department. the selection committe
