. >> peter tennen, vice chair of the c.a.c. all of the action items were unanimously approved, and i'd just like to pass along a few comments on two of the items. the first is your item six, to direct a motion of support to direct staff to advance the work and seek adjustment for pras stu pras -- project study update. motorized vehicles would be charged, but scooters and bicycles would likely not be charged. and how would network transport companies be charged, and staff replied that since t.n.c.'s were not a factor in 2010 when the last study was done, there'll be more study on this topic. and then, someone raised the issue that what would be done in areas of high housing population and seniors, especially along laguna street that would be affected by congestion pricing. and staff responded that accommodation would be made for this population living along the affected corridors. and then, your second item was item nine, and one member congratulated the transportation authority for implementing social responsibility within the i

the c.a.c. members. there were three areas of concern of the resolution. the first were costs. assuming full funding can be secured along the critical path of phase two and any delays moving forward with phase two in this case, 30% will result to increased escalation. at this time estimated approximately $17 million a month. second, missed opportunities to obtain commitments of federal and state funding for phase two and third, until completion of the dtx and caltran and high speed rail will utilize forth -- fourth and king with caltran electrification delivered in 2022 and high speed rail in 2027. the nation and neighborhood window be handle to anticipated volumes of passengers, residents, workers and visitors with major infrastructure and station improvements. this is problematic. based on these concerns, the c.a.c. members would have preferred that the design activities continue with the conditions outline outlined in e c.t.a. resolution being met. the c.a.c. members understand and respect the

having a young person on the c.a.c., i think, is a great move towards that. instead of gentrification, reentrification. i thought that was good. second, senator weiner has released the beginning of sb-50, the new housing legislation. i spoke with him and he would be willing to come and speak with us. and so we will have staff coordinate with his staff. it looks like the first committee hearing won't happen until march. so there's a little runway to understand it and for us to get involved and making sure our issues are covered. and then lastly, i bring this up because it's really concerning to me. but i became aware this morning that in houston, jenny's noodle house had a pride mural on the wall. and it was defaced. and they captured the person, a single individual on camera. they haven't found him yet. but they have identified it will be prosecuted as a hate crime. however, what's concerning me is the building owner has decided to paint over it. and i think this falls right into the intangible cultural heritage, the leasor has no control over what the land ow

so we participated in the c.a.c. annual education conference? i shared with some of the colleagues some of the challenges with this year's conference because the marriott was a headquarters hotel, and of course, there was a labor dispute that has since been resolved, but at the time, it prevented from many of us participating in events at the marriott because we wanted to stand in solidarity for our workers. so to what extent should we continue to be engaged with csba given the fact that they really put school board members at risk in insisting that the marriott remain their headquarter hotel. but the conference itself was held across the street at moscone west. i hosted two workshops, one on ending sexual harassment in schools and the second one on human trafficking curriculum? my colleague, commissioner norton was on a panel on our math sequence, which is gaining so much attention nationally for the amazing results, the impact it's had on formerly underperforming subgroups, so i wanted to just give that report. and if i may just make one announ

signed the final environmental document and before i begin, i do want to thank the c.a.c. chair -- is he still here? for their endorsement of the environmental document. so, tonight -- ?onlt this morning, i'm very pleased to go ahead and present a series of topics. primarily to provide you with a whirlwind tour of the journey that we've been on and to discuss the various actions that are before the board. the dading has five particular topics covering the environmental review process. they have been evaluated as part of the supplemental environment document. the impacts that were aye fied in the environmental analysis, some of the major comments that were received during the course of the public review of the draft document and then the recommended board actions and i'll be covering the first -- fourth and fifth items and meghan murphy will be covering the refinements. the environmental process, which i'll go through rather quickly, consisted of four distinct phases. the first phase kicked off with the notice of preparation and essentially covers scoping. the second phase w

people that we need, and i will just tell this real quick, when they came to us, i was the president of this c.a.c. during the redevelopment process at that time. when they were going to build that, we kind of went back and forth a little bit. we said no because we didn't -- the director of the time brought it to us and we liked it, but they didn't bring it back to us for final approval before she put it on the agenda. the names will go unmentioned, but if you count back, those of you in the city can figure out who it was. so we went off and mare breed was on the commission at the time. we went off, and you can see that the commission was already leaning in our direction, but the director kept fighting to try and get it through. and jeff who was there at the time said, mr rosen, thank you for supporting us, but we are not that kind of organization. we don't impose ourselves and people's communities. if the community doesn't want us and they aren't ready for us, we don't want to go forward until they're comfortable. people don't do that when they are looking at multimillion dollar opportunity. but
