the c.a.c. use these indicators as our guide for choosing our 2019-2020 priorities. particular concern are the exceptionally low performance indicators for absenteeism in mathematics. keeping the data dashboard in mind, here are the c.a.c.'s 2019-2020 priorities. evidence-based academic instruction and intervention for not only literacy, but also math. ensuring that social and emotional supports are in place and that all students feel safe and included in each and every school will go a long way towards addressing chronic absenteeism rates. since 75% of students, with disabilities, sit in general education classrooms, it is essential that general education staff have the support and training they need to teach all students. lastly, it is critical that the c.a.c. expand its outreach and share their knowledge about special education with all san francisco unified school district advisory committees that support all mourner generalized communities. -- marginalized communities. >> as a relates to rea

we are the c.a.c. are aware there's escalating and rising significant costs and the time goes by without progress on the already voter approved development for the d.t.x. it is kind of frustrating. that is what i'm hearing from the c.a.c. members and the public. if there is a way to make up for that lost time, we would certainly want to hear about it and see the details. i think there was an allusion to that. as we acknowledge the concept of a regional champion or champions , we feel like the leaders have been the city and the leaders within this project, perhaps some of you might be in a position to identify one or two people who could be that regional champion for this project. so as i close, i guess i would say that the tjpa and c.a.c. members would like to encourage you to help identify somebody who could be, or those who can be champions for this project, and we are asking that you help secure the release of the funds for the the design build portion of the project. those are our c.a.c. comments.

we presented to the tgpa board and the c.a.c. a few times and met with vice chair gee to discuss some of the potential recommendations and findings. and we are also working with partners to discuss ways to potentially implement some of these recommendations in the near term, including through m.l.a., as well as potentially funding items here at the transportation authority, should the recommendations be accepted by the board in october. turning to some local issues. our pricing study has kicked off as well. we want to really appreciate the metropolitan transportation commission. thank you missioner ronen for serving on that, which approved $400,000 in regional funding to support our study. combined with our local t.a. funds, that's enabled to kick off with consultants and study partners. we've been working on community engagement plans and equity analyses at directed by the body. we look forward to bringing you updates. treasure island outreach continues, particularly for the non-profit and for-profit business communities and thei

. >> i'm a member of the c.a.c. of the p.u.c. and i'm on the water committee.i am greatly concerned about this issue, as being knowledgeable of the results of earthquakes in 1906 and 1989 in san francisco. this is the most pressing problem that we face, as a city. i would wholly endorse the comments that have already been made, but let me add that time is of the essence. you know, i look at this project and think that this is relatively small, compared to the water rebuild system that the p.u.c. has pretty much completed at this point. that happened in roughly 17 years, at max. you know, the united states sent a man to the moon in ten years, upon the leadership of jack kennedy. building this system doesn't cost that much. and it needs to be done. politics needs to take a backseat to the technical needs of getting a comprehensive fire suppression system that uses non-potable water from answer infinite source. that's what the grand jury has essentially argued for. bell dings and so that's why i urge you to support this going forward in that manner. thank you. >>

i will give you the text of that the sfmta c.a.c. recommends that because cable car passengers experience long wait times at the powell and market to turn around, line be promoted as an alternative for those passengers who wish to ride cable cars without regard to destination. we also had an interesting discussion with a representative of the m.t.a. district supervisorial district liaisons, and what tasks they do and how they relate to projects of specific liaison people who come into work with neighbors on particular projects, and what a nice, big, mess that can be, and people don't know what is going on often because, i'm not sure, but for whatever reason, we thought maybe it could be smoother if the regular liaison for a particular district also talked to all the people in the district about what was going on then and what projects were coming up in the future. so that's the basic presentation of highlights of our meeting. thank you. >> wonderful. board members, any questions for c.a.c.? okay. thank you for the information. as alwa
