of the south carolina frontier. in 1779, he won a spectacular victory over a large enemy force georgia, aseek, well as several other skirmishes. in 1780, when the british captured charleston, and then occupied most of south carolina and georgia, with the promise of being left alone, pickens did as well. as the rebellion sprang the back to life in south carolina due to british atrocities and mistreatment in the latter half of 1780, pickens stubbornly held to the terms of his parole and remained nuetral. until a loyalist force came to his home when he was away and destroyed much of his repartee and mistreated his family. he then took up arms again. he was one of the key heroes of the battle in 1781 and he campaigned with nathaniel green in north carolina for the rest of the winter. he helped lead the successful recapture of augusta in 1796. he was ed lee wounded in the battle of utah springs. in september 1781, which was the month before the great american victory at yorktown, virginia. after yorktown, the war in the c
