that's according to data from the cdc. outbreaks are often seen on cruise ships, nursing homes and jails, as well as schools and places where people are close together. during the first week of december, 91 cases of norovirus were reported. that's more than double the highest number recorded between 2021 and 2024. along with vomiting and diarrhea, the most common symptoms include nausea, stomach pain, body aches, headache and fever. but one other thing to watch out for if you suspect you have norovirus is dehydration. ucsf infectious disease specialist doctor peter chin-hong says washing your hands is key to limiting the spread. if somebody has diarrhea around you, don't use hand sanitizer. it doesn't work against norovirus. use soap and water saying, you know, make sure you you use it for long enough so you have to sing happy birthday or, you know, a song by beyonce or something like that. doctor chin-hong says scrubbing surfaces with household disinfectants can also help. to see more stories like this, be sure to join us
