the city fiber network i'm going to bring that up this is the city's own network. it provides very high speed access and high security high functionality. it was constructed starting in the early 2000's by the city primarily for linking cities and buildings and still used for that purpose not every city and building is connected but i think 170 or so are and there's excess capacity in the network being used by the department and by the city to address some aspects of the digital divide. on the panel on the right on this slide you will see that free high speed access is now provided to the san francisco housing authority facilities so every facility has this and free high speed access. also, 22 community centers are provided free high speed access from the city's fiber network and provides classes and services for seniors and people with disabilities and finally sf wifi now offered a little over 3 miles of market of market street and 32 city parks and people can access the internet as long as they have a device at those locations and finally the city issued its conne

as way of background and here we're looking at actual spending for the city in fiscal year 13-14. as you're all away the city provides a vast array of services in a number of city departments through a broad network of organizations in the city or non-profit organizations. this slide is showing you that allocation by the city department that holds the contract. the total spend in 13-14 through non-profit service providers on services totaled approximately $675 million so we're talking about a very large base providing as you can see here services through a number of city departments. over 70% of the services though are really provided in our human and health service departments and public health makes up half of the non-profit contracts in the city and hsa and dcyf and the first 5 commission accounting for a 12% of different children and youth services. of course those contracts are supported by a vast array of different colors of money given the way the budget works but again the majority of spending is occurring in health and hsa and they're general fund funded departments most of the spending occurs out o
