the country is safe. lock your doors. cleveland is prowling the streets debauching young women. a really aggressive campaign attacking cleveland. so it became a huge story because they wouldn't let it go. one of the things that saves cleveland as it turns out that james g. blaine like to get more affairs in cleveland and his wife miraculously gave her the six months after they got married. blaine was keeping all this consternation on cleveland and the one thing we dislike more than a politician is a hypocritical politician. the other thing that made a bit of a scandal was the republicans were pushing this issue and they would have a little, kind of a jingle, little song, a rhyme that they would do and they would say mama, where's my pop? cleveland's love child, mama, where's my pop? with the limits of presidency the democrats use that saying. it's kind of a democratic rejoinder but what made it scandalous, grover cleveland's best friend and law partner was a guy named oscar fulsome. cleveland was born in new jersey and he spent most of his career in buffalo. he was a very success

january 17th, 1989 the authorities say patrick purdy walked into the cleveland school campus with an ssault rifle and fired more than 100 rounds in just a few minutes. he killed five children and wounded 30 others before turning the gun on himself. sources say the killer in this morning's attack lived with his mother in newtown and had attended newtown high school. the motive is unknown. a law enforcement source said that the 20-year-old had a personality disorder of some sort. his older brother, ryan, from new jersey was initially mistaken identified as the shooter and he was questioned by the police. he reportedly told the police that he had not talked with his brother, adam, in at least two years. mental health experts say it is hard for most to comprehend how someone can be responsible for a mass cure like the one in connecticut. why one former profiler says this are always indicators leading up to a tragedy like this one. >> reporter: a former fbi profiler, who heads his own security firm says the shooter had to give out warning signs. >> always something that proceeds this. it j

victor blackwell is weathering the storm from cleveland. e are some big snowflakes. >> reporter: yes, they are big snowflakes. and this is coming. the storm is coming. these flurries started about 3 1/2 hours ago. so far, no accumulation. the winds that rob just talked about, occasionally we get a pretty strong gust, but nothing that's consistent that will stop the traffic at cleveland-hopkins international airport. we checked with them. no major delays or cancellations from overnight into this morning. there have been some cancellations. we know hundreds of them, and delay, up in the midwest because of this storm. city officials here are watching this very closely as john said a few moments ago. seven deaths across four states blamed on this storm, including two in iowa. on wednesday, there was blinding snow that caused a 30-car pileup. we know that two people died in that storm. we just checked this morning. about 13,000 customers in des moines still without power on this very, very cold morning. here in cleveland, city officials know that
