on that, the clinton campaign does not disagree. this is becoming a race of delegates. clinton had a big lead in the delegate hunt, but sanders could make up ground this weekend. it is one reason he is going to college campuses in lincoln, nebraska and lawrence, kansas. he is foccusing on working clas. others who are fed up with washington. he got loud cheers from an otherwise conservative state. many are happy to have a candidate show up at all. some democrats are wondering about the tone of his campaign. i asked him if he should tone down his rhetoric. >> we are in this race to win it. i don't run negative campaign ads, but i think it is appropriate in a campaign, you distinguish your differences. otherwise why run. >> reporter: you see he has no plans of changing his approach. they are working to the next presidential debate in flint, michigan. that is leading to the key states primary. that state will determine how the delegate fight goes on. >> shout out to jeff. he has been traveling all over doing a great job. >> he has a lot longer to go. >> thanks, jeff. >>> hil

>> kristen welker in cleveland, ohio, with the clinton campaign. thanks. you've been following a story that stretches from idaho, the location of our next -- one of our remaining contests -- to washington tonight. >> that's right. there was the very scary sidebar story to the idaho primary, which is that on saturday, ted cruz flew into idaho and did an event, a campaign event but it had an invocation by a local pastor. the day after that event, the pastor was ambushed and shot multiple times in the parking lot of his church, including shot in the head. miraculously, he survived and he's actually regained consciousness today. the person of interest, the suspect in that case, they put out a description of him, they put out his name, they put out a description of his car and license plate, but they could not find him since that shooting on sunday. tonight they have found him, and in all places, he was at the white house. they found him in washington, d.c. he was arrested after apparently throwing some nonhazardous substance over the white house fence. this is

the clinton campaign doesn't love their chances there. was in wisconsin earlier this week stumping there. she gave the big supreme court speech in wisconsin. but at the same time they acknowledge there is a real possibility they could lose wisconsin as a state that favors senator sanders to the extent you have a big labor movement there, you also have a big progressive group there. so it's a state that he could win. that would give him momentum heading into new york. she really can't lose new york. this is a state where she served as senator. >> interesting, as you say, the clinton campaign is prepared to lose wisconsin but they don't want to see that happen. will she be heading back to try to garner a few more votes, or is it all in new york right now? >> right now there are no stops in wisconsin on her official schedule, but we're still waiting to see what happens monday and tuesday of next week. if you look at the delegates, though, wisconsin has far fewer delegates, fewer than 90. compare that to new york that has 200. the clinton camp
