we've seen numerous storms off the coastline. we've come a break for most of those and tell just a day or so ago. but now we're seeing that a return of that storm track and that's going to impact the bay-area those storms rolling on in bringing us some more rain and the swells continuing to move in along the coastline. you can see the bush just off the coast. you got to happen the south. that one right now currently expended waves right around 20 feet. the one in san francisco of coastal ocean beach to 21. and then you get a little further north toward point race. a little bit larger there at 22 feet. but off the coastline, even further receive even larger waves of 25 feet. building waves expected throughout the night tonight and tomorrow to not only here, but around much of the state has that next storm system begins to bear down on the bay area that is going to bring with it. another round of some heavy rainfall as we look toward tomorrow morning on christmas eve. and then we've got more storms line up after that. we'll talk mor

nbc bay area's damian trujillo has been along the county coastline all day. the waves seem to be back to normal here along the san mateo county coastline. certainly, enough for the surfers to come out. the waves that were crashing onto the coastline earlier today, but not as much later on here this afternoon. but it was quite the scene here earlier in half moon bay as people tried to jump in their cars and head out of town because of the tsunami warning, there was never an official formal evacuation order given, but the folks still wanted to get out of town. they crammed up highway 92 to go over the skyline boulevard and into the highway 280 area here in the bay area and so they wanted to get out of town. some waited on the summit there of highway 35, and just to wait it out until they could feel safe to come back into half moon bay. some stayed in town. they went up to what's called the granada hills up here, higher elevation, just to makeke sure they were safe. a couple of issues here. one was the evacuation, the self evacuation that the residents conducted,
