according to "the dallas morning news," the wife of a former justice of the peace.being held in the kaufman county jail for making a terroristic threat, but 46-year-old kim williams was apparently booked into the kaufman county jail at about 3:00 this morning. and she has been charged with one count of capital murder. now, remember, this is the county that has been shocked by three murders, including the district attorney a couple of weeks ago, his wife. they were brutally murdered. gunned down in their own home and then the assistant district attorney, gunned down at the end of january. that sparked a massive federal and local investigation. that has looked in many different directions. the former justice of the peace is one of the avenues they have been investigating. eric williams has not been declared even now as a suspect in the case. you have to wonder since, according to "the dallas morning news" since his wife is now charged with capital murder if things will change rapidly in that regard. >> it wonders -- why police haven't charged him. i wonder if he wasn'

the part we're talking about is the greater dallas area. now, the first incident happened in kaufman, texas. the second incident was related to a shooting that happened in colorado, but the suspect died on the left side of the screen there, in decatur, texas. now the third one which happened this weekend, saturday, it happened back in kaufman county. in a town called forney, texas. so these are the three. of these three, it is the shootout in decatur we have covered quite a bit on the show. that was two weeks ago when the prison's chief in the state of colorado was shot and killed when he answered the front door of his home in monument, colorado. the same gun used to kill him, tom clements, was later used two days later in decatur, texas, in a shootout with police and sheriff's deputies that ended with the suspect dead. the suspect was a colorado ex-con, known to be associated with a prison white supremacist gang. there's still no motive for the tom clements killing, but they say bomb making materials were found in the suspect's car. after h

in 2006, according to the dallas morning news, texas regulators knew the west fertilizer company hadnks of ammonia and a school was evacuated due to a controlled fire from the fertilizer plant. the dallas morning news is saying the plant told officials it did not praent risk of fire or explosion and worse-case scenario would be a ten-minute release of ammonia gas that would kill or injure no one and then this. records from the federal occupational safety and health administration show the agency's last inspection of the west fertilizer plant happened in 1985. for a few violations that osha considered serious the company was fined, wait for it, $30. $30. 28 years seems like a long time between osha inspections for an inherently risky work place. according to the "new york times," while the number of inspectors has grown under the obama administration, osha has 2400 responsible for overseeing 8 million work sites. one inspector per 160,000 workers. a ratio that has not changed since '70 and the federal budget to protect workers is half of those set aside for protecting fish and wildlif

this week the dallas morning news in an article with the headline west fertilizer company environmentalompliance problems go back decades is reporting that 1984 the company moved two large pressurized tanks of liquid anhydrous ammonia a potentially lethal poison from a site in nearby hill county to the current location in west without notifying state authorities. it was seven years later for texas regulators to even take notice. in an interview with the associated press yesterday governor perry dismissed the notion that the west, texas explosion could have been prevented if regulators and inspectors had done their jobs better saying quote people through elected officials clearly send the message of their comfort with the amount of oversight. today we learned that the first two of what is expected to be many lawsuits pertaining to the west, texas explosion, the first suit was filed on behalf of four insurance carriers insuring 17 west businesses and property owners who sustained damage. the second lawsuit comes from andrea gutierrez who is the first west resident to file a civil lawsuit
