in the delta. build a small facility of 3,000, 3,000 is not small, 3,000 cubic feet per second facility taking that water out of the sacramento river, at sacramento, put it into the deep water shipping channel, the sacramento channel, all the way down here tory other areow -- just north of rio vista. take it across the delta, put it in a canal, into old river, to the pumps, 3,000, the remaining water would be taken out of the sacramento-san joaquin delta when it is available and when the fish, the delta smelt and other fish are not at the pumps, and you turn the pumps on, sending that water south to be stored or used in the ock which ferres -- aquifers. of course north of the delta you would have the surface storage reservoir at sites and perhaps the enlargement of shasta and then the ability to use it. so why don't we do it? for the $15 billion that the governor wants to spend on digging two tunnels that do not create one gallon of new water but do create an existential threat to the large ms. esty

the winds have been blowing fairly strongly in the delta. we have 26 mile-an-hour winds now. that's a good four myelin crease since our last update. the winds are beginning to pick up near fairfield. we are still looking at mild winds around the bay with six mile-an-hour winds in oakland and hayward. temperatures this afternoon like we were talking about with mark, we are looking at 95 for some of our warmer spots. even that's a good five to seven degree drop over yesterday. concord 91, 93 pleasanton, 94 for livermore. in the south and north bay we are looking at temperatures in the upper 80s. anywhere from 85 to 89. we have 72 in san francisco. across the the bay in oak land, 77, very comfortable. most bay shoreline communities will be in the low to mid 80s. it will warm as you head down south. it's going to be great day with decent sunshine later this afternoon. i want to show you the short range forecast. friday and saturday you see temperatures dropping a bit. i want to point out friday we have the chance of maybe seeing an early morning sprinkle. latest run of futurecast

we had some 80s and still some gusty winds by the delta and livermore and along the coast down throughinds and that will continue through the early evening hours. here's a look at the highs for today. 72, as well as mountain view, and 80s in a number of low cakes -- locations. we're looking at the changes for the first part of the week, and in terms of disrupting the marine layer, we have less at the coast but the inland areas have been cold. overnight, mile. that continues again. inland, nudge it up a few degrees tomorrow and then by wednesday a big warmup for the inland valleys where we will return to the 90s. so, this area of low pressure is the reason why we're not warming up all that much, but it's also keeping things nice around here with less in the way of fog, yes, we had breezy winds but once the low begins to move on out, we'll see high pressure build in. it's way off the coast now. and once it builts in, that brings in warmer weather and less wind. so, we look forward to that come wednesday, between now and then it's about status quo. 75 tahoe. partly cloudy in los angeles a
