. >> when it comes to the detroit auto show the big news isn't always about sales figures and new models. real money's ali velshi is there were. what is catching your eye there? >> reporter: technology, tony, not the technology used to make cars, the technology under the hood, but the stuff that connects you to these things, your phone. a couple of things. i put on a pair of google glasses today and went over to hyundai where they have a genesis, a luxury car, and it's going to figure out that hay, you got a 7:00 appointment, and without you being anywhere near the car it reads this from the phone. and the google glasses tell you that you have a 7:00 appointment. the traffic is heavy, it's 6:45 you should leave, and it's cold out, the car starts without you being near the car. and an impala, you'll be able to have all sorts of apps, including one that will tell you anything that is right or wrong with your car. if you want to it will set up an appointment for a servicing right there. so this useable technology. >> are you kidding? why don't i just sit in the car and allow it to drive me

the motor city shows off the latest cars and trucks at the detroit auto show. if the supreme court is looking at a potential landmark case concerning president obama. the high court will examine whether or not the president overstepped his authority when he unilaterally declared the senate was in recess and appointed three members to the national labor relations board. libby casey, good afternoon. why is this case so important? >> we'll watch for the decision made by the supreme court late july when they round out their term and at the heart of this case is whether or not a president in this case, president obama can make appointments when the congress is out of town. the white house says if the congress is gone the president can move forward and not only nominate people to serve on boards to serve as judges but also can go ahead and install them. senate republicans have a very different interpretation. they say if the senate's out of town doesn't necessarily mean it's on an official recess. recesses technically only happen twice a year, in between sessions. sen
