and, back to the north of the rdu airport northeast of durham. there's also another area if we look further south, that is down in the area here, just below wake county. i believe that is in extreme northern harnett. you can see that area of shear increasing here. you never want to take one scan and see a red area and say, oh, but if it shows up over two or three consistent scans, it is definitely something worth looking at. and, again, with this activity getting closer to the radar now we are able to sample the lower part of the atmosphere more effectively than we could when the storms were, you know, a few counties away. and so, it gives us much more confident if we see that strong signature, then, yes, this is definitely on the ground there is a 90% chance it. and so that is going to be something we are watching very carefully. i'm going to broaden out to be a little bit. and again, you can see those two while spinning circles, went to the east of durham, one just below wake county and of course, the big cell that we have been watching up there

most of the precipitation has been coming overnight, so we have parts of durham, chatham, and northern wake county, seeing this band coming through, frank land county, as well, so the snow is starting to come down. it's going to make for some slick conditions and temperatures warm through the day, changing to some freezing rain and sleet, later on this afternoon. here's a look at durham, i-85 at hill dale, and you can see the snow's coming down pretty heavily, and you can see it on some of the roads there, so you want to be careful. up until 1 p.m., a winter 27 in durham, and cary, and wake forest, and 29 in clint own and fayetteville, so you get in the mid-30s in the middle of the area. and they'll be some freezing rain, but by 4:00 temperatures climb into the mid-30s and temperatures will continue to climb into the day tomorrow. we're looking at some heavy rain, so it won't be slick conditions in terms of winter weather, but it may be messy again tomorrow morning. a check of those traffic cameras, you can see snow falling towards durham. >> and sticking at 4:33, 4:34, we take a look
