temperatures right back in the heart of the bay have a seeing low 70s along the east bay shoreline. d-to upper 70s through much of sonoma and marin county. topping out at 85 today further north.e to how things will change is to watch the futurecast. even though it is mainly high clouds the next few days, we actually do see something a lot more like a summer pattern fill in as we get into wednesday. that is the marine layer filling back in the bay. it typically happens when you get your bigger transitions in temperature, going for much warmer inland and not necessarily as warm in the bay. that is certainly what we will see play out in the 7-day forecast. you can watch that for san francisco and oakland. you will get back to 80 in oakland in just a little while. we with the temperatures get to 90 in san jose by the time we get to thursday. will be mid 80s for the north bay valleys. when we look at the microclimates for the warmest inland east bay communities, low 90s comeback by thursday. we keep temperatures comfortable, and in the 60s at the coast throughout the entire warming trend.

in the east bay. students in walnut creek have now returned to class after a freshman student stabbed another classmate kron four's. charles clifford has the latest. >> well, here in walnut creek on wednesday, students at northgate high school are back in the classrooms after one of their classmates was seriously wounded and another taken into custody around 01:00pm. on tuesday, walnut creek police responded here to northgate high school reports that a female 9th grade student had been stabbed and needed medical attention. she was taken to the hospital at last check was in stable condition. her alleged attacker, a 9th grade boy, was taken into custody and transported to contra costa county juvenile hall. he is facing charges of attempted murder and mayhem. the victim and alleged attacker are apparently classmates. but so far we do not know a motive for the attack. on wednesday, the mount diablo unified school district had counselors on campus for any students who might need to talk about what happened.
