taking a look at the east bay hills. you can see just how low visibility is out there. the east bay hills, not the only area that we're seeing low visibility along the coast here and some pockets in the north bay as well as across areas of the east bay due out friday morning and friday afternoon. we have those onshore winds. cooling us down this week. and that's what's keeping us cool. anna. and the really topping that fire that we definitely were pacing for the day before yesterday when we got to the 90's. so we get a break in that. we're looking at our highs for today across the board. if you're in the north bay, you're in the mid 60's. so santa rosa, upper 60's nevado along the coast here at 59 in half moon bay in the south bay, upper 70's, san jose. 75 east bay across the board. look at that. 74 on in concord, oakland, 65 now. you're planning your 7 day forecast. so yesterday we had a holiday. we're pretty much consistent with yesterday's temperature for today. so friday, 74 and then we continue to cool off into saturday mother's day, even cooler in the 60's inland.

this morning, amy hollyfield's live in the east bay with what we're seeing here and how crews are getting ready. amy: we have a high wind advisory for the east bay hills and the north bay mountains today. that is until 2:00 this afternoon. there were a few fires that pops up in yesterday's dry, hot, windy weather, including two in san jose. firefighters knocked them out pretty quickly. the fires did not create any major problems. emergency response teams said they are on high alert and are asking that residence also be on guard. >> i want people to be careful out there. this is a really high-risk fire season here at it is the earliest i have seen in 10 years , with the dryness and our fires happening in may when they use to start in june or july. people need to be extra cautious this summer. holly: they call conditions right now the riskiest type of weather. first responders say they have been focused on fire prevention and on educating the public, saying that if people are not aware yet, they need to be. it is going to be a hot weekend here and across the country. amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. reggie: you can track the weather conditions anytime on our

clear skies looking outside from the east bay hills and we are going to be in the midst of a few more isolated sprinkles up in the sierra nevada, something that areas likely tahoe saw this weekend just a few drops of water. as for the bay area and none of that for us. we are seeing a cool coastal breeze, though that pushes in through the golden gate and are right on into the delta to that cools us all down across the region. keeping temperatures really moderated for yet another day as we move into tomorrow, we're going to be seeing temperatures warming and winds resulting in heightened fire danger. so that's where those red flag warnings will come into place. starting on into tuesday, wednesday and thursday for many of those inland spots that are going to be the hottest. now, today is a nice moderate today. tomorrow starts that warm-up wednesday is actually expected to be the sunniest in warmest day of your forecast. as for today, cool day in san francisco. but a cool and comfortable one with sunshine and 60's 50's and 60's at the coast. if you're heading out along highway one for you

we still have wind advisories in effect for north bay mountains, east bay hills. >> and even the east bay valleys. but because of the above average, temperatures expected for solano county going to be noticeably warmer there. that's why they have that eminent fire. danger concern with that red flag threat. let's take a look at current wind speeds out there right now. still tracking those northerly winds for those of you at fairfield. 21 mile per hour sustained winds getting a little bit of that cool sea breeze, though, especially throughout the east bay shoreline, 20 miles per hour, sustained winds. so we are noticing a few degrees of cooling. still going to be above average, though, for this time of year. but future wind gusts going to show winds continuing this afternoon through the early evening hours, mount saint helene of this morning reported gusts of 73 mile per hour wind speeds. but we're expecting to see gusts upwards of 55 miles per hour or less through 8 o'clock tonight. specifically for those of you in solano county, we are going to get a little bit of that cool sea breeze

also off towards the east, we are going to see the winds increasing for the hills, the north druid hills, east bay hills under a wind advisory starting tonight and continuing through tomorrow. as far as the temperatures, it is still been pretty warm. we should be in the mid-70s. we are headed to the mid-80s today and even i-291 in fairfield this afternoon. going into tomorrow, it is only fast slightly cooler. we still do see the cold weather continuing, san francisco and near the coast. we are looking at highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. more of that going into saturday as well. that is not much of a cool down for that north bay and sulfate valleys. going into the next several days, we are going to continue on with dry conditions. but then towards the end of the forecast, possibly leading into memorial day, yes, that is next weekend, we are going to see a chance of cooler weather and possibly summary nearby. as we take a look at our seven- day forecast, highs in the upper 80s for the interior parts of the bay area and then more sunshine. getting even harder for early next week, with the some mid

we have the fog surging in over the east bay hills. and some kind of fire burning here. this is near the california 24 and i-680 junction. we'll keep you updated. 70 degrees the warm spots in livermore and san jose. it's down to 56 degrees already in san francisco with that fog making its presence felt. temperatures are going to drop down to the low to mid-50s pretty much everywhere tonight. the coolest spots barely below 50 degrees. temperatures are going to warm up for mocha in oakley. this lucky pup and her ears going every which way. she gets to enjoy some of the warmest temperatures across the entire bay area with the mix of clouds and sunshine. temperatures reaching the mid-70s before the onshore breeze pushes some cooler air even into the delta by late afternoon and early evening. let's take a look at full high temperature map. it is a cool one for may. upper 50s along the coast. low to mid 60s for san francisco and oakland. low 70s around the south end of the bay. mid 70s into the santa clara valley. mid-70s far inland in the east bay. those are the warm spots acr

so the focus in the north bay solano county in particular, but also the north and east bay hills you're looking at that heightened fire danger because a wind gusts will be strongest over the higher terrain hour by hour forecast will show you those winds remaining gusty along the coast tonight if you're stepping out just keep that in mind going into morning, they ease everywhere along the coastline still remaining breezy and then tomorrow evening. you will notice those winds coming up 29 to 34 miles an hour fairfield 27 miles an hour and ramping up some more late tomorrow night that's going to dry out the atmosphere. so morning temperatures actually warmer. what we experience this morning, you're looking at 50s 60s it is going to be breezy across some parts of the bay area and then tomorrow afternoon in the south bay 84 degrees in morgan hill 79 in san jose 75 sunnyvale. so coming down a few degrees on the peninsula mix of sun and high clouds los altos 77-69 in san mateo 61 and half moon bay downtown san francisco 68 degrees 62 in daly city. it's going to be windy here near the coast nor

you see it over the east bay hills. now and headed further inland, really deep. and so that really knocked these temperatures down drastically almost 80 degrees just 2 days ago in san francisco today, we came in at 62 below the average 69 degrees in oakland. 79 still nice and san jose. and then remember livermore yesterday they had a high of 100 to actually set a record yesterday and live more today. 22 degrees cooler at 80 degrees. 69 was all they can get to in concord. 63 degrees in santa rosa. get the idea these temperatures really knocked down by that ocean air as a push well on shore. and you see the effects now you've got 60's well inland, one of the warmer spots, 78 degrees still in brentwood, but otherwise keeping those temperatures way down from we've seen recently onshore winds continuing to blow. they'll bring more fog and low clouds tonight. watch out for some more drizzle and cool temperatures again, especially near the coast. tonight's the night, at least that's what a nation is hoping for. for the worriers. they are back at home in san francisco at

really, it's going to be battling over the east bay hills to get to the east bay shoreline. so that may act as little bit of a blocking mechanism for the air mass to. but as you turn the other direction, this is would be if you're looking at this over your shoulder behind, you would be we're all that action is to the west. very clear. we can see from this vantage point and there's the east bay shoreline. nice lit up winds, though they are on shore as well, at least at the surface. what's going on here back to future cast for a does note those thunder showers there, although it shows a little bit later development when you tend to get this, they're almost like air mass thunder showers, although this is being generated by system when you tend to get them earlier in the day like that, that sometimes suck some energy out of the atmosphere a kind of break up the cell a little bit by the latter afternoon because we haven't reached our maximum heating for the day. it's kind of robbing that area locally of the daytime heating. this is what happens to everybody by late tonight. as yo

my recommendation is due a hike right along the east bay shoreline into the east bay hills or up acrossmperatures will be solidly in the 70's for many of the spots. lots of sunshine and just a really enjoyable day. we are going to be the midst of some strong winds at the coast in on through the delta yet again, a little calmer along the bay shore, which will have some of her most comfortable numbers. we do have a big catch to today and that does involve the winds up being fire danger in a red flag warning that goes into effect 11:00am for the solano county area as well as across the central valley. it's a pairing of the winds and humidity dropping really low. temperatures will be on the rise the next several days today. we're still staying relatively cool. pretty similar as to where we were over the weekend. tomorrow temperatures will begin to climb back into the 80's for many spots. and by wednesday, our hottest day of the forecast. it is a short-lived spike in temperatures. those will cool right back down on into next weekend after this midweek jupp. so today very similar to yesterday
