the tacoma eastern became a subsidiary of that railroad. when the milwaukee transcontinental arrived in tacoma in 1909, it then turned the tacoma easter into a subsidiary of the milwaukee road and at that point you were able to begin to catch a train in chicago and gall all the way to mount rainier national park on basically one ticket.so in 1919, 1918, december 31, 1918 the milwaukee roadabsorbed the eastern and a lot of its subsidiaries and formulated one gigantic corporation at that point . and at that point it became known solely as the milwaukee road. and passenger trains on that line were numerous. as you can imagine and actually earning a decent wage. so having the chicago milwaukee st. paul and pacific around in 1909 they had to sell for second and third best on just about everything. it put them in kind of a conundrum, economically. there was vast stretches of rail line, they had the shortest rail line between puget sound and chicago. they also had the best radiance but they didn't have very many grants lines. when you look at a stu

today the two trained american red cross volunteers from the eastern pennsylvania chapter will leave n emergency response vehicle and head for a staging area in louisiana before being assigned to an affected area. the salvation army of eastern pennsylvania and delaware is also planning for deployment to texas with volunteers planning to leave tomorrow to provide emotional and spiritual support. meanwhile there are also efforts under way to help storm affected animals. saint hubert's animal welfare center mobilized its sister shelter transport program. this morning they'll welcome at least 100 shelter dogs from texas to their madison, new jersey, campus. after the dogs eat and rest, many of the animals will be transferred to partners along the northeast corridor including shelters in our area and this helps provide capacity for animals displaced by the storm. again, those animals are expected to arrive in morris county later on this morning. we're live in center city, katherine scott, channel6 "action news. >> katherine, thank you. >>> young and old people are doing what they can to he
