my to disappointments are the fact that the earthquake that took down the central freeway and embarcadero freeway did not deal with san jose avenue. i consider it the same as the freeway. it has delighted those communities for years and we see what happens when they have gone from the embarcadero and when the central came around and what hayes valley is now. i can envision a resurgence, not necessarily in the same manner, one is more grand than the other, and this could be a third one down the line, but the concept of connecting the communities is there and i realize you are working on it. there's nothing that can be done now. my big disappointment, however, is nine years in the making and bart is still sitting on its ass. i can do nothing but criticize them for not joining in a cooperative planning process. the comments i have heard from part individuals have been it's up to the city to rezone it and then we will figure out, not that we will work cooperatively. that really gets me aggravated. i appreciate the fact you and your partner have had to struggle through this without being able

to remark on the incident that happened on the embarcadero. my sense is the collision happened with someone at random and red light and ran into a pedestrian. i do not think that will be your typical bicycle sharing user. a phenomenon that we have seen worldwide, definitely in this country, again, counter intuitively come as the number of cyclists on city streets increase, safety also increases, and definitely in terms of the collision right. what we're also seeing in other cities is the number of overall collisions also go down in places where you have high bicycle youuse. by inviting more bicycles, you may think that we are inviting more trouble, but time and again, research out there has proved what we call safety in numbers. >> my second question was, is it a first-come first-served or do you reserve? when you go to that station, when you punch whatever do at 80 am station, you have a code or something. how do you actually get the bite? >> i am sure technology exists to reserve the bikes, but my sense is a first-come, first- served basis. i

with all the names that she read off in the embarcadero area, we did have a mission to advance preparations in the event of a catastrophic disaster. we have actually achieved so much, just because of the relationships in the form. i believe that the relationships, just within the san francisco bay area, are better today than they were two years ago for a year ago. that is all positive. the relationships that we have with the military and naval services are outstanding. liam has turned into one of our volunteers, interviewing a lot of sailors and marines. they were so taken with not just the beauty of the city, but the friendliness. we owe a lot to these inferences films in the greater bay area of -- san franciscans in the greater bay area. it was a success. as much as we can, adding a luster to the fort of san francisco. -- port of san francisco. i have gotten letters and messages from the pentagon, telling me what a great show. even new york understands that this is the largest fleet week in the united states. and it has a purpose.
