now let's get a check on the embarcadero. d to be there for new year's live at 11:30. we can't say that enough. charles clifford joins us live from the emb -- embarcadero. >> reporter:y hey, i'm at ground level and catherine on the rooftop, and the fireworks will be launched from a barge out on the bay, and then we have the clock tower counting down until midnight, and with the large crowds expected down here, the san francisco police department will be here to keep an eye on things, and they have put out the barriers that they will start spreading along the embarcadero. they like to keep a few lanes open for emergency traffic and to keep people on the sidewalk to watch safely. otherwise, it's a beautiful night along the embarcadero. they have ice skating going on over there and it's just a beautiful night for new year's eve. we will be here throughout the evening with updates throughout the newscast, and we'll be here live at 11:30 for the new year's eve live show and live pictures at midnight. charles clifford, kron 4 news.
