. >> a live look outside, city by the bay, clear as a bell as you can see along the embarcadero, mondayorning, january 27th, this is "today in the bay." >> good morning to you. thank you for joining us. happy monday. i'm scott mcgrew. >> i'm laura garcia-cannon. a 19-year-old college student who went to school in the peninsula facing charges of possessing a weapon of mass destruction. christie smith joins us live in belmont where the suspect once lived. >> reporter: good morning to you. that's right. the 19-year-old graduated from carl mont high school up the hill from here last year and now he is facing serious charges. this started when police came to his apartment near penn state. initially they were looking for evidence of an illegal marijuana grow operation, but what they found was totally different. vladislav miftakhov is now facing a number of charges including possessing a weapon of mass destruction. but he didn't appear to be hiding as he didn't object when officers came to his apartment in altoona. the russian national let them in and investigators say that what they found was
