the upper 70s to near 80. month dpomry, arlington, fairfax, prince georges county in the upper 70s. around the chesapeake bay, the temperatures are cooler. bay water temperatures are around 70 degrees now. on the eastern shore, temperatures climbed into the mid-70s. a beautiful day there. just a few clouds around around the lower eastern shore and southeastern virginia. and it's near 80 and most of those locations the water temperatures at the atlantic beaches are still though in the 60s. and over the last 12 hours we've had a high pressure pushing in from the midwest. it's a large weak area of high pressure pushing over our region and will continue to be in place throughout the rest of the day today, tonight, and tomorrow. but then as this high drifts off the coast, we'll have winds shifting into the southwest and that will be warming things up as we get into wednesday and thursday. and as we go forward over the next 48 hours futurecast showing a few clouds around. during the day tomorrow, we'll have a weak front trying to ripple through northern virginia and parts of maryland. we

so just under the 90-degree mark. reston in fairfax, 84 degrees. and 88 currently in coalsville, maryland. take a look at the dew point temperatures. we've been sitting here between 60 and 65 degrees. so as we go to our what's the point chart, that puts us into some slightly humid air for today. tomorrow it's going to be humid if not very humid. and when you factor that with some record heat or near record heat around the area, the record for tomorrow is 98 degrees. that's exactly what we're going. we've got a heat advisory because heat indices, they'll be between 100 and 105 degrees. so this will be our second heat wave now that we're moving through. that heat advisory right through the day tomorrow from noon until 8:00 p.m. it will clear out. the temperature will drop below 80 degrees by 9:00 and into the mid-70s by 11:00 p.m. so i'm calling this a nice evening seeing what lies ahead for the next two days. again. >>> pretty high temperatures. we'll talk more about this heat advisory and the possibility of some afternoon thunderstorms, too, coming
