the fairfax county police department saying that charges, additional charges are possible. bud walker is a public information officer with fairfax county police. he started in 1999 on patrol and moved to the public information office in 2004 and then was a school resource officer in 2006 and then since 2009, he has served in a role in the capacity of public information officer. now, this all started last week. this was with the -- essentially the website tumbler, the social media site had informed the national center for missing and exploited children that they had received sort of a tip that someone had uploaded child pornography from an e-mail address that the child exploitation unit with fairfax county police had traced back to the home of bud walker. that search warrant on that home was served last thursday. last friday bud walker was relieved of his responsibilities and he currently remains on administrative leave with pay. this is a developing story, this information just getting out really in the last 10 minutes or so. chief ed rosser with the fairfax county police de

newscast and minutes later, the fairfax county police department putting out a press release about the situation saying a fairfax county officer was relieved of duty yesterday based on a criminal investigation into child pornography. now, here is what they were -- they are telling us at this moment. fairfax police say that detectives within the child exploitation unit were contacted by the national center for missing and exploited children. that group had been provided with a cyber tip received through a social media site. the tip alleged that child pornography had been uploaded through its server and was determined that the upload came from a resident in fairfax county. detectives began investigating on monday april 6th just a few days ago and then on wednesday two days ago on the 8th detectives determined that the home was owned by a fairfax county police officer. the officer has been with the department for 15 years in an administrative capacity working here at the massey building in fairfax county. as of right now, no charges have been filed. no arrests have been made. and no names

the investigation progresses. detectives want to speak with anyone with information about this case. in fairfax, peggy fox, wusa 9. >>> in light of the recent police shootings in several states some police forces are arming their officers with body cameras. but who should have access to that video? >> it's an important question. now d.c. and a number of states are moving to restrict who can get that video. the mayor wants a law that exempts the video from the freedom of information act. that has a lot of citizens crying foul and our bruce johnson found some of them. >> reporter: one of the main reasons they want to limit the access to the police body camera video is simply cost. think about it. 2800 cops on the streets, all with body cameras, producing video that has to be stored, that has to be duplicated, that has to be made available to just about anybody who has a reason for wanting it. >> it's should definitely be released. >> what's the appoint of having it if it can't be released? >> the citizens we talked to in downtown washington were iunanimous. >> i think it should be made available.

let's go to the video we got today showing a house on oak court in the annandale area of fairfax county. that's where the suspect is believed to have spent time after the escape from the hospital where police found the carjacked camry we were talking about yesterday. the homeowner tells news4 that the house had been broken into, a window was broken and the door to the house was broken. it appears that someone was inside there and had gone through every room in the house. she believed that the suspect ditched that hospital gown. we mentioned that he left the hospital wearing inging only a gown armed with the gun. she believed he left the gown there and possibly took clothing. the house was mostly vacant. just a few thing were left there. they had already moof moved out. she said it's possible he could have taken hueshoes. he may have eaten food, possibly consumed some alcohol that she had there in the home as well. she says that it looked like he was trying to change the tire on that camry because it was there in the garage. she saw say jack and things like that, but she said apparently
