it is not only the fda that is dropping the ball here. companies making these contaminated products are in some cases operating negligently and putting all of us at risk. the report says it can take up to 10 months for stores to stop selling this food. they took a look at 30 severely dangerous recall cases, class one and two, the products would make you seriously ill or possibly lead to death if you ate it. on average it took 57 days for recalls to start. in one case listeria was found in cheese products. almost three months passed before the products were recalled with deadly consequences. one infant died. two pregnant women lost unborn children despite risk involved the fda mostly relies on food manufacturers to report any issues. it trusts them to voluntarily recall their own products. there is a checks and balance system set up, the fda is supposed to monitor, audit recalls to make sure products are removed in timely manner but a report says the audits rarely happen on time. because it did not always complete audit checks within 20 da
