that's the ladder truck from the fremont fire truck. unsure why they're using it, perhaps to take overhead pictures of part of the crime scene. trying to get more information, but the information is slow in coming out from the investigators here on the scene. now, here's what we know so far at this point. it started before midnight when an east bay regional parks police officer had a confrontation with a car full of people at a 7-eleven across the street from where we are right now. now, for an unknown reason at this point, the parks police officer called for emergency backup, saying there was a gun involved. when fremont police arrived on scene, they say a man was trying to get away, so they gave chase. for a while, they could not find the suspect, they brought in a helicopter to help. again, for an unen known reason, one fremont police officer fired at the suspect, killing him. we're still trying to determine if the suspect fired at the officers first or if he even had a gun. the sergeant here on scene here it is not clear officially w
