somehow the horses got out of their pen in golden gate park at a little before 6 am.and then it was offthe racesas the 23 animals decided to go for a little gallop thru the greenery. cop turned into cowpokes after a good samaritain called 9-1-1 toreport the unusal spectacle. thfirst for us 18 years and never heard of a loose horses sgt. kevin stancombe was called to the scene as he was getting on shift. his main concern was keeping the sting from trotting into traffic. it's like on a deer hit a car can you imagine a horse? that could be fatalnats (park ranger)i lasso'd onepark rangers helped get a handle on the herd. and the wranglers who work for the riding outfit were able to turn a nearby dogpark into a temporary pen for the horses.so there were several other horses just outside the gate at the dog park and the nice thing was at the horses that were loose stay close to the horses that were penned ina staff member here told me about half of the horses that did not get corralled at the dog park and it up coming right back here to the corral she describes him as like homing pigeon'sall
