we're just starting to get rain on the golden gate bridge. now rain is showing up at sfo in the north may as well take a look behind me and you'll see the live picture and it's just starting to sprinkle out there. we did get up to a half inch of rain up around point arena on the coastal sections there in marin county. we've already seen up to 500 to 1/10 of an inch of rain. most of us in the next hour or two, could see anywhere from 500 to attend. to a quarter of an inch of rain. so really really good news out there as you look at the live picture, let's take a peek at the system as it sits now, and the thing to note with this is it's not the only one. all right. there's look at that thing sitting out there that there's another system coming in, and then another one behind that, so we're into sort of a wet pattern. it's not these aren't uh, goalie washers are massive storms, but they are going to put a big dent in the fire concerns that we have. hopefully this thing tonight will be good. we get something else on wednesday and maybe something e

the bay bridge. the richmond center fell bridge in the golden gate bridge. so already your bridges are getting the mix with some slick roadways as we are seeing rain actively falling out there a little bit lighter intensity out towards point raise the thing about today's rain is it's pretty well formed along this frontal boundary. so it's going to be a quicker rush of rain followed by drier conditions for the rest of the day down the peninsula. half moon bay 92 as you cross over to 2.80, and eventually san mateo also pretty wet this morning having yet to see a lot of activity picking up in the east bay oakland. you're just now tapping into some lighter showers richmond on the other side of things. you're starting to see some moderate shower activity. the on over 37 on up towards napa. also in the midst of some showers moderate for the most part, santa rosa petaluma down through bottle. also there as his northern portions of napa county eventually up into lake and mendocino counties still very quiet for the south bay right now. as you can see, sunnyvale on ove

the san mateo bridge. i'm not seeing any major delays. so that's the good news that's going to get a look at the golden gate bridge about 20 the richmond sandra fell commute a little under 9 minutes as you're traveling and the golden gate bridge about 20 minutes into the city will have more on this coming up. for now, let's get back to the news. in the east bay pg and e will be conducting a gas safety and reliability inspection along olympic boulevard and walnut creek. that's going to be over the next few days. the company says this is a routine inspection. it won't affect gas service. but that inspection will cause some traffic delays. so they say expect lane closures between pan around that way and paulson lane. and california. retail stores are soon to be required to have a section dedicated specifically to gender neutral toys. governor gavin newsome sign that bill yesterday requiring stores with at least 500 workers have a section. it's the first of its kind in the united states. the law does not ban the display of boys and girls sections. san jose assemblyman evan low sponsored that bill. it's set to go into effect in the year 2024 anoth

let's get a look at the golden gate bridge. a drive time's almost up to 15 minutes as you're heading into the city, you have the fall and the wet conditions there not seen any accidents along the bridge. people are driving a little slower as you should be. 5.80, eastbound west of highway 24 here in oakland. we've got an accident. a look 5, 8880, 13, all of our highways are slow at this hour. so again, you could take international to try to get through all of this. if you are trying to avoid any of your highways if you can't, then you're going to be in for a much longer commute this morning. we're looking at 5, 1880, as you're traveling down crockett towards the maze a little under 54 minutes for you there. we have some earlier accidents along 80 those have since been cleared up. but again, you're still seeing delays a little and are now 30 minutes to make it across towards the peninsula. and we talked about this being the driest bridge near. so again, if it was raining, we see even more drive times how a force pretty slow, a lit

a little under 9 minutes as you travel out of richmond and the golden gate bridge about 20 minutes into the city will have a weather and traffic coming up. but for now, let's get back to the news. well, the alameda county board of supervisors voted to support a tax revenue plan to help pay for a proposed ballpark to be built at the howard terminal at the oakland port. the vote does not mean it's for sure going to be built because the resolution lets the county opt in to a non-binding tax district. the city of oakland plans to create this means the county can opt out later down the road if they wish no public funds will be used to build or operate the proposed ballpark instead the tax district would collect the city. sheriff property taxes generated from the project for 45 years to cover construction costs. the money would also pay for surrounding infrastructure like housing and a park. a city staff report states. the development of the project is going to generate more than 16 million dollars. annually for the county. and take your phone out. we have this special qr code created. you ca

switching gears now to our 4 zone forecast as we show you a live look at the golden gate bridge. a lot less foggy than it was last night. yeah. chief meteorologist lawrence karnow joins us now detail the cool down coming up. well, we already started to you feel feel the change today. yeah. i mean, you get that on shore breeze. can that really. >> but the temperatures down as much as 22 degrees across parts of the bay area from yesterday's highs. the clouds started to gather to. you've noticed that today. if you look up to the skies. we've got some of those clouds begin to move in and move across our skies. but the temperatures, well, they really took a dip today as much as 22 degrees cooler in oakland, 22 degrees cooler in hayward 14 degrees. cooler today a little more 19 degrees cooler in fairfield, 18 degrees cooler san francisco. so these numbers. >> coming way down from where they were at just 24 hours ago, only a high of 64 today in san francisco, 69 in oakland 77 in san jose. still warm inland. 83 degrees live more 82 in concord and 72 degrees in santa rosa. so that big dome

. >> on the golden gate bridge. just how wet the surface of the road is that does make for slick conditions, especially when it's one of the first rains of the season. you know those oils, the grease. it is accumulated on roadways. mixed in with that rain and it can make for some extra slick conditions. so a good excuse to maybe leave a little bit early this morning. a view at radar does show some activity lingering across the region. now any sort of rainfall. we're still holding on to is really light stuff. it's just a light sprinkle at this point, including a marine county right down the east bay shoreline. you're still looking at some light showers along routes such as like a 80 in 6.80, to 80 there on the peninsula as well as portions of one. oh, one still in the midst of some lighter showers once you head up in the upper elevations of the santa cruz mountains. it gets a little bit more intense and then into eastern solano county. we're also seeing some light showers between fairfield in rio vista. this morning.
