more on the hp inc. side, but we need to defend. let me give you a perfect exmaple -- as you migrate -- say you are a cio -- as you migrate infrastructure into the next generation that will be required for you to be cheaper and faster and more nimble, the ability to write applications in a new environment, cloud native and mobile, it will be important for you to have orchestration, monitoring software. everything has to be automated today. so we have those kinds of opportunities in our software portfolio. so we play in quite specific areas of software that is a little different than erp systems, like oracle or s.a.p. or salesforce. this is not really our market. emily: what about the cloud? what is the hp strategy for the public cloud? are you going to be a cloud, or sell to the cloud? and do you plan to take on amazon and google? meg: our public cloud offering is not designed to compete with azure or aws or google. what we see most enterprises wanting to do is not to put everything in a public cloud. so if you want only convenience,

the printing business also suffering. no not dead but suffering. competitors cutting prices, particularly in japan, pressuring hp. what's next? the separation. hp splits into hp incerprise. there's going to be a meeting in four weeks leading up to the changes. less than four weeks even. but the question facing both halves of hp remains this. the company as it existed was based on scale. the pc business generated cash for the enterprise but it needed to be incredibly tightly manage. that company model failed. hp has been adrift since. they had cash but they did snap fish, software on the consumer did. instagram worked. three par, didn't work well enough to make them a storage power house. and then you have autonomy, now straite separated, they have less, and they need to make the case of how they can grow in giants in networking, in storage, in pcs even with dell with a little more leeway to make investments. we'll see what they do. >> thank you very much. bucking the sell off in technology off. up next, an eye on the broader markets. plus big moves in commodities this week. oil flirts with multiyear lows.
