kron4 jackie sissel is live at the jack london square. >> right now, it is pretty quiet. anticipate this to grow. let's take a look at video from friday when a lot of people turned to the ferry for an alternative. monday have set up on a normal day to carry about 6000 people. but because of the increase service they can now do about 20,000. this has more than tripled. this is what happened the last time when the first strike happened in july. they are ramping up, ready to go. they have also added to boats to their fleet. they're trying to accommodate the extra riders. the first serial leave. 5:30 a.m. and the second one as 6:30 a.m.. after that it will be every 45 minutes until 11:00 a.m.. they will then start back in the afternoon. one thing that you should know is that there is not a lot of parking so if you come here you should probably get here early or have someone drop you off. you should expect long lines. they expect to see much of the same today. the good news is that they run every 45 minutes and the lines move relatively quick. sometimes they have to at a time

nick smith is live at the ferry landing at jack london square. what can we expect? >> reporter: it's up in the air right now, but i can tell you that bay ferry has increased services. what they will do is they will raise the number of ferries to 12 from their normal 8 in a usual workday to accommodate those who may take the ferry over to san francisco. and so what i've asked some of my followers to do is tell me how they plan to get to work. but those who plan to at that time take the ferry, like in july, we saw jammed lines waiting to board. catching from ferry landing had two options, jack london square to two place. and you should expect crowds in july thp they carried more than 7,000 people the first morning of the strike. that was up from a typical morning of about 2500. now, to help reduce the amount of passenger congestion, golden gate ferry will add an additional landing at the ferry building to move commuters in and out. now, enhanced ferry services will be in effect until b.a.r.t. officially announces an end to the strike. we can also let you know that the
