we know you were at the jefferson memorial when we heard about this. you got to the capitol very quickly. what did you see? >> reporter: we saw a police officer's car damaged. we started talking to people who had heard about seven to eight gunshots when they heard this boom, the crash and then the black car got away. this woman was injured as we believe that the injury happened when one of the barricades in the street went up to stop the subpoena, but the police officer had run into it and the woman went around him and got away from this location. she was then stopped further up the road closer up to the capitol. but the video that you are showing of this woman getting away is rivetting. she is driving around in circles in front of the capitol right here at this monument. you can see her going in circles. then trying to get away from the police officers when you hear the shots fired as she tries to get away and it ends up the street out there with her death and her being shot and the child in the backseat. that video is just incredible. it gives you an
