you can imagine all that flooding did cause problems here at the jobsite. amazingly enough, february of 1940, two july, they got that all cleaned up and were ready to start building the dam it self. they brought gravel in on a conveyor belt that had to be built of course. all of that material was brought here to the dam site along with cement and water mix together at the base of what would become the dam and that concrete was delivered in eight yard buckets. they delivered concrete to a series of a blocks at any given time. as the concrete was delivered, gentleman like the joe chestnut here would pick up a big compactor and pack that concrete down, make sure there were no air bubbles. you can see it is not very fluid, so if you end up with a big air pocket and there, that will collapse in on it self. his job was incredibly important. imagine what it would be like doing that all day long. they were paid big bucks, $.90 per hour, to do that in the summer sun or rain, did not matter. it didn't stop for 4.5 years. built up the sides of the dam, they were gettin

the city says they are already getting calls from businesses who's jobsites were disrupted by this flareupt at this time they don't have a handle on what the total economic impact will be. maureen kelly kron4 news (rob fladeboe)here in san jose the jury in the sierra lamar murder trial deliberated for several hours on friday before calling it a day. legal analyst steven clark says there is a mountain of evidence to consider and expects it could be several days before a verdict is reached. the trial lasted more than three months. antolon garcia torres is charged in the march 2012 kidnap and murder of 15 year old sierra lamar. her body has never been found. in san jose rob fladeboe kron4news (dan kerman) here in san francisco a big sink hole which toppled over a big rig has been filled. it was about 5-20 this morning when the big rig pulled over to park suddliy the driver felt the truck begin to life to one side. before he knew it a sink hole had opened up and his truck had fallen in. the sf p-u-c came on site once a tow truck pulled the big rig away to determine what caused that sink hole.
