[applause] >> thank you. thank you. good evening. i am delighted and really honored to be here to talk about the battle for lake champlain in 1814. been thinking about for several years as i have seen the bicentennial coming. i have not been a student of the war of 1812 my whole life. i connected with it through the shipwrecks through lake champlain. i knew it mostly through this place. over the last several years, we have been traveling with our outreach program and interpreting the war of 1812, knowing that in 1814, we were going to have an opportunity to talk about the things
