in southern california the wind storms prompted los angeles county to declare a state of emergency. nta ana winds knocked down trees on pasadena homes and businesses. wind gusts in the san gabriel mountains were 100 miles an hour. downed power lines left 350,000 people in the dark. >> windy last night but unusually warm. i was on market street about 6:30 walking in short sleeves. >> i had my ski coat on.
