so mary, i feel for the people of louisiana. i truly do. i'm hoping that somebody can come along and have the same spirit and fight that you have but nobody will be able to replace you. what you've been able to do and what you've been able to make us aware of, my little state was involved in helping katrina, helping the state of louisiana. the state of west virginia came in immediately. when that happened and we were so proud to be part of that. and then we have a lot people in louisiana living in west virginia today because of that effort. so there's been a wonderful relationship, a wonderful friendship. but more important, a wonderful person who has graced the halls in this tremendous body for 18 years. that will not be replaced in this senate, in this body. and again, people of louisiana should be extremely proud to have someone that was a fighter, that gave every drop she had of public service for her state. never forgot where she's come from. that is a tremendous tribute in and of itself. i say to my dear friend thank you for your servi
