and the marines have almost gone out of business this time by the navy and they said, marines, we challenge you to make a landing. and they anticipated the 1914 naval exercise. and if you can't do it, your funding is gone. so luckily, john lejeune, the greatest naval commander of all, takes that unit down there to calabra and succeeds in planting the guns and bringing in some aviation into the fleet exercises. so it's another time the marines could have gone away but an uprising in mexico brought the marines to vera cruz in april 1914. so the marines are luckily there from the vera cruz exercises and they keep them together. so they go to vera cruz. and guess what? who is there soon after to report on, jack london, john davis and a lot of other reporters and you see that trend continue to grow. marines make headlines again, marines land. but one thing that happens at vera cruz is the navy says we can no longer do landing parties because they go ashore in their navy whites and go into the streets of vera cruz and are shot down from all directions. so really, they just gave up on them. we no

this is to look at hazardous materials on the site of 2000 marin. se one report and there's a history to this site so we're going to do a much more extensive testing of the site to look at where the contamination might be and what kind of contamination would be there. this is important to us because when we start programming the site we want to know sort of what the layout of the site could be. and they will cover our transactional costs and our relocation costs, power enterprise relocation to the 2000 marin site. so those are covered by the developer. we will reimburse the developer for temporary facilities at 2000 marin. we don't know what the long-term outlook will be and we have an opportunity to relocate the flower mart at the site. and so we would actually share the site for several years as we develop our long-term plans for this site. there's also what we call a hydrogen peroxide tank at 639 bryant street. and it's a chemical that we drip into the sewer system that prevents odors in the downtown area. and the developer has agreed to relocate

you can see the marine layer building in. it's gotten even further inland in the last hour or so, passing through concord, santa rosa seeing quite a bit. this high pressure system is what we can thank for that, pushing the marine layer down even lower. it's also what we thank for the warmer temperatures, kind of built-in now. it will make things nice and warm after everything clears. this is monsoonal moisture and once this high pressure system comes in here, this is going to build in around it and bring a little bit of humidity towards the end of the week. that will be responsible for the changes we'll see for the second half of the week. for today, sunny for most people, especially around lunchtime and later. that means it's going to be hot, and it will remain hot tomorrow, especially inland. it will be milder at the bay and coast as well. then we have more clouds and humidity building in on thursday thankstothe moisture making its way up here. our high temperatures for the day are nice and warm, 88 for santa rosa today, 89
