i work for the great state of maryland. i work at the office of tourism development. i'm thrilled to invite you to visit us in maryland and discover for yourselves why maryland is the most powerful underground railroad storytelling destination on the planet. i'm going to take you through that invitation. i will share some of the progress we've made over the last 20 years throughout the underground railroad initiative. effort,tiative is an true collaboration. it's a collaboration among the private and public sector, government, nonprofit, statewide, it's a representation of a very passionate constituency who has come to the state of maryland and they want to have this important story told. todayke to share with you where we are with some of the projects as part of our initiative. first and foremost, i would like to share with you information about the underground railroad national historic park. this was established by president obama on march 25. this was through an executive order after many years of work in order to get that park established. it was a monument first
