have you been lying to the peak will of minnesota -- to the people of minnesota? >> i have not. d not say those things. the president was engaged in wishful thinking. let's talk about what the affordable care act has done in minnesota. theave reduced by 40% number of uninsured. 95% of minnesotans are in short him of the country. minnesotans, second in the country. mr. mcfadden wants to repeal the affordable care act, he has ronald that the whole time. he wants to repeal it. we have to fix the things that are wrong with it, but built of the things that are right. if you repeal, we would go back to square one and you would have people with pre-existing conditions being able to get coverage without paying a penalty. women would have to pay more for their health care just because they are a woman. people who have gone through their lifetime cap or annual cap would be thrown off their health care again. kate, a mom, whose daughter has cystic fibrosis said her daughter is alive because they got rid of the cats. >> your mate is a big part of your campaign. -- you have made a big part of

interest of the people of minnesota. in an era where there has been a lot of gridlock, i have worked across party lines to find commonsense solutions. i worked with so many republican colleagues -- with dick luger on the diabetes prevention program. which is saving lives. 75% of the cost of health care is chronic diseases, and diabetes is one of the biggest. on workforce training with lamar alexander of tenneesee. on pharmaceutical safety i did a bill with pat roberts of kansas. the farm bill, i cowrote the energy title. i work for renewable energy. my first bill with johnny issacson of georgia was a veterans bill. we have a propane crisis. i have worked across party lines and gotten things done. part of the reason we had this meltdown six years ago, five years ago, was because the credit agency gave aaa ratings to all this junk. i did a bill to regulate these so they cannot give aaa these financial products. i did that with senator roger i did that with senator roger wicker, a republican of mississippi. you can slice and

minnesota since then. so just to give people an idea. so we have been covering the organizing of low wage workers and minimum wage fight in minnesota. i will tell you one story. it just happened. monday, i had the privilege and i do video, i con treb out about half of the video to our squiemt. i had the privilege anyway, monday, and it is, to go to a trailer park in the suburb of minneapolis and interview alicia flores who is a building cleaner for the target corporation, a subcontracting -- actually works for a firm that subcontracts with target. and sat in her kitchen. and had her tell me about the recent victory that they just had. she is a member of of center for workers united struggle. i'm language challenged. but anyway -- workers centers based in the twin cities of minnesota that has been operating for about 3 1/2, 4 years, organizing. they had been organizing building cleaners who work for various companies that are subcontractors with target and cub foods and sears and home depot and stuff like that. and so, the biggest fight with target corporation and mo

but we have to understand the economic engine of our part of minnesota. over 80% of all employers ours mall and medium-sized businesses that are taxed at the personal, individual bubble. they are subchapter s., llc, said partnerships, they pay taxes as individuals. when they pay a higher tax rate, 39.6% in corporate america, wall street is paying 35% and they have farnese, accountants, lawyers and cpas, that is the reason we have disproportionate -- one of the reasons we've disproportionately high unemployment in our part of minnesota. you know, the numbers, for the state, look good. when we pick apart what is happening in the district, the iron range has 64% higher unemployment than the rest of the state. brainerd and for rapid in the last several months have topped out about 10% unemployment. in dignity, yes the outskirts of bemidji are part of this district. they have topped out in the last several months 10%. but that is not the real numbers there. we had a much higher rate of employment, participation employment market about six years ago. thousands,
