the u.s.? what are you hearing in terms of... and other western nationsterms of when and how to help intervene? >> the thing is the military option is something that has thus far been considered off the table. how soon does it move on to the table if this goes down the road towards mortar shooting. would that mean the obama administration would stay out of it? no matter what? even if the iranians intervened on behalf of the regime. those are a lot of question marks. >> reporter: what is the council asking of the u.s. and other western countries at this point? >> the syrian national council as their representative, for the united states to make its weight more felt in the security council. it is outrageous that 3,000 unarmed civilians would be killed while the security council from time to time debates this and comes up with nothing. the united states can do more with its allies in terms of imposing further sanctions on syria. and certainly talks with the russians into regaining some sense because this situatio of an armed force shooting at unarmed civilia

some of the gatherings at the national restaurant association convention. there was a lot of alcohol involved. and there are sort of tales that have come out of that. we're trying to track them down. the "associated press" in this case with this particular woman tracked down a particular tale in which the woman says herman cain invited her back to his apartment, his corporate paid apartment in crystal city, virginia, and made her feel extremely uncomfortable that she thought about filing a formal sexual harassment complaint but decided not to because she began to have less dealings with him at the national restaurant association. so we are also working on details trying to flush out some details of an earlier incident that we reported, a national restaurant association convention in chicago in the late '90s. i think there are a number of media outlets working on similar lines of reporting. >> would you draw the conclusion as a reporter, there seems to be a pattern of behavior here, ken? >> certainly we are aware of two instances.
